For anyone's information in the comments in reference to the ongoing and unpredictable conflcit in the Middle East, Kazakhstan is NOT in the Middle East, this is Central Asia, an entirely different part of the world with an entirely different culture. It's not unsafe or unstable and he left the Middle East over a week ago. For reference, parts of Kazakhstan are as far north as parts of Scandinavia, and the city of Almaty is just a few hours drive away from China which is not on unfriendly terms with Kazakhstan. The Middle East is a strictly defined region around the Levant and the Arabian Peninsula, and does NOT include all countries in the world where it happens to live Muslims. Examples of Muslim majority countries outside the Middle East includes Albania, Bosnia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Maldives and even parts of the Philippines and India, none of these are in or even near the Middle East. And no, Muslims in general are not dangerous or evil, the very vast majority of them are normal people who goes to work every weekday and does not commit crimes, unfortunately Western media creates an Islamophobic environment. The vast majority of Muslims in former communist countries like Kazakhstan are practically not even religious, not one bit more religious than the average Brit or Frenchman. A country having Muslims in it does not necessarily make it a dangerous or unstable place.

@vaultkeeper2 Thank you for a very good geography lesson. I have a hard time explaining the same to my neighbors.
@vaultkeeper2

@@jasnah9717Yeah, it's like "oh it has stan in the name, that must mean it's in the Middle East with terrorists all around the place and they'll chop the head off the first American or Jew they see". People are just so ignorant and it annoys me alot. I have been to 49 different countries and some of them Muslim majority. Never felt threatened, that being said though is that most of them (that I visited) are former communist countries where people are not religious. Not that religious places are necessarily dangerous, but in a non-religous country like Kazakhstan I would feel even safe to live a western secular lifestyle at the fullest, in open with beer and wine and dating etc without causing anger to locals or the authorities.

@@lbunnygordon1133 Unfortuently, not some. On other videos there has been comments like "get out of that region ASAP, I wouldn't go if you paid me", as if there was a war about to happen there or something like that which there isn't. The sad truth is actually that the major cities in the US, when it comes to things like shootings and armed robbery, are much less safe than most of the cities Gabe visited the past few months.

Hi Gabriel, maybe I'm wrong but the name of the city Almaty translated in English means friendship in English. That was a good move getting out of those apartment complexes it seems stagnant not much going on there. First, the transit system was an exceptionally clean station, and you didn't see armed security like in certain countries sense of safety people seemed calm and relaxed. The park experience was something you would see in any major city people especially children enjoying the park riding in small cars. It is beautiful to see a sense of openness and freedom.

As I heard many people have had problems in China because Google, Facebook and similar is blocked there, Google Translate/Maps are impossible to use and there is another domestic software for these cases. I believe that it is similar in North Korea.

It's really nice looking over there! Good food, low crime, clean, peaceful, and even nice areas that are family and kid friendly. A new Cinderella's carriage with Mozart serving gourmet burgers in a world going bonkers with a new era of history. Not so nice in America and the West for our quality of life, food, culture, and economic situation is becoming abysmal and appalling. Wonder how long Americans and US citizens will be allowed safe freedom of passage like that? I guess US citizens can smartly move abroad to a nice new upcoming country like Kazakhstan or Malaysia, but it requires financial independence with a fully global diversified portfolio of assets which is the thing most of us can't possibly have in debt based economics of psychopaths, war, and misery.

In order to get around you have to take taxis, google doesn't understand the public transport and will have you walk any route, the city is heavily polluted by traffic noise and exhaust fumes so walking really isn't fun here and taxi is your best option. Of course you'll get shafted by every driver, they'll charge you 10 times normal rate and pretend not to know how to say 2000 and type in a calculator 20000 when your drive is done. One thing to prevent you from getting into fights with drivers is to use yandex (the uber of Kazakhstan). Drivers will still fail to put the blue dot (your location) to the marker where you need to go and sometimes it'll be off by a large amount (40 minutes walk) but at least they won't rip you off by too much. The best tip I can give you about Kazakhstan though is to just ignore it exist and fly over it, there are many places that are far more worth it with people that are more helpful, friendlier and more appreciative of you visiting their country.
