Beaumont is a city of around 112,000 people located 90 miles east of Houston, Texas. It's part of the Golden Triangle region which includes Port Arthur and Orange, forming a metro area of 400k people. There is a historic downtown area with impressive architecture and buildings, including the Crockett Street strip and Jefferson Theater and Julie Rodgers Theater. Ultimately I made it out to Logon Cafe where they have been hosting the longest running open mic in the Golden Triangle area and supporting Texas artists like Hayes Carll. Good times.
