The sea is very chilly in Essaouira due to the cold Canary current. Even in late summer it's quite tough to swimm.

Yes you'll see a lot of the countryside in my upcoming 2-day desert excursion video. And the spot I'm at now is even more of a surfer town, smaller and mellower than Essaouira even.

+Gabriel Traveler moroccans love cats and lots of families feed them to keep them around...they eat the mice and insects and are clean animals by nature...plus people believe its a good religious deed to feed animals and give them water when it's hot...

By the way its not a surftown...its a windsurfing town since its one of the windiest cities in africa and last year there was the us tour of windsurfing also kitesurfing...its a paradise for kiters

The bee was after the fruit I'm sure and went right on the camera cool shot. It is a quaint little town for sure:) 8.00 dollars is cheap for all that food. Your room is fes or fez like the hat? My Uncle brought one back from north Africa, He was with Patton against Rommel WW2. Cats are a plenty, eating the fish I suppose and the fleet of boats is a dory type and only one of those type fleets are remaining in this country, in southern Cal. More idols then books it looked like, typical for that part of the world, I guess. Take yourself care, Peace! Our Friend.

They're both really cool. Essaouira is a lot more happening, more interesting, more to explore and do. Taghazout is tiny. So I would recommend Essaouira, although I don't know which is better for surfing. Try to go to both if you have time, you can take a bus between the two.

If you re going there to surf and meet other surfers Taghazout is the place to stay in and you can always make a short trip to Essaouira from there.

I went to this place and went int one of the restaurants . For 4 of us we were charged 700 Derams. = to almost £70- Then they had a cheek to demand for a tip (not ask) Giving a tip is suppose to be a choice left to a customer . The food was very good. But wasn't worth that kind of price .

it's a little bit expensive, just as you're a tourist. if i were there i think it would cost me 4$ a good breakfast. anyway i hope you really enjoyed essouirra its one of the best deal here in morocco, and many of songwriters, artists, writers used to visit essouira, i heard that jimi hendrix did, this is the reason why the hotel was named woodstock

Yes there are street names actually, but you start to recognize shops and intersections and plazas, etc. as you walk around and start to get a good feel for where you are and where to go.

They're just named after them, they didn't stay there. Jimi Hendrix stayed in a fancy hotel somewhere. Not sure that Jim Morrison ever came here.

When I was in Essouira back in the 80's i was the only tourist there, no artwork, no Jimi Hendrix talk and rooms were like 10 dirham......I t was a legit Moroccan vibe town with loads of real markets - what the hell happened, Gabe?

Cool, that's a trip you were here that long ago. Yeah times have changed. I think traveling has become more popular in general and so lots of places around the world have gotten swamped with tourism, often the best places.

Yes Jim Morrison did visit Morocco, i think twice, he even bought for his girlfriend a Moroccan clothing store in the US. (you can check on the internet a letter he sent to his friends telling them that he visited Morocco)

I'll chime in.....he addressed the updated information about his computer in the comment section of some of his previous videos. And yes, he sorted it out for now. Hope it keeps working until he's able to return it or replace it.

Basically the reason processing that one video took 17 hours must have been because there was a program running in the background, something like that. Because my other videos since then haven't taken nearly as long. So that's an improvement, but other than that the other problems are still there, broken microphone and the audio cuts out sometimes and I have to restart it. But at least I can do what I need to do for now and will hope to replace it and upgrade whenever I'm able to.

It's normally 24 dollars apparently but they gave me a deal. I'm sure you can find cheaper elsewhere though, especially in non-touristy towns.

A word of Advice, slow down ALL YOUR PANS. This vid is typical of novice movie makers and is hard to watch. The man seems nice but take some good advice and stay on a subject for 10 seconds or more then in the editing u can decide cut, speed up or Montague your way to quality. Keep up the work and find a Spiritual guide, then visiting a Muslim country will inspire you in ways you never could have dremped. Alhamdulillah. 👳🕋🇺🇸😘

Yes, you can find cheaper in Morocco for sure. They serve a pretty good breakfast at the hostel for just $2. But I think overall Morocco is a bit more expensive than southeast Asia.

I actually checked out the Canary islands a few days ago and was seriously considering going, they look amazing. But then I checked the weather and unfortunately it's not really warm enough right now for swimming and kicking back on the beach. Would be a shame to go there and not be able to properly enjoy the beach because it wasn't warm enough.

Correct the Map , there is no such thing as western Sahara, their is only The Kingdom of Morroco, if you like the beauty of Morroco, had a beautiful time and count coming back, Delet that Map replace it or correct it, or make an apology video, because you offended the Morrocan people.

It seems that you have no idea about what's going on in Morroco and it's your right, no worries, but keep this in mind, ths subject is so huge in Morroco and next time if you'll be around , dont try to talk about this subject or even give some opinions, your dream trip could turn into nightmare, just saying, but if you did like the country... showing Morroco as whole it would be kind because you show your support to the country , it shows also that you encourage and spread peace rather than encouraging civil war... but dont feel offended , it's not your fault because you know nothing about this matter.
