I'm questioning the fact Matchroom pays for gloves and it "costs an absolute fortune". I know of one very high profile fighter who wears a popular brand, and he gets custom made gloves each fight for free. He told me that is standard at his level (as it's free advertising for the manufacturer). I see that brand in the shot here too. Here's a hint: he wears the same make a recent opponent--a Matchroom fighter--did (mentioned in this video), so had to pay for them? Something doesn't seem right with Hearn's statement here.
