I have worked for a number of the wealthy in their flight departments, and have an insight into the lifestyle. One of the super yachts I was on is to difficult to describe to people outside of the industry as they cannot relate to the luxury. It is the same scenario trying to describe a large cabin luxury jet- unless you bring them onboard. I know it is hard work when you have guests- and preparing for their arrival! I still enjoy the work and have learned how to deal with the demands! Great overview of your activities! Seems like a very nice vessel- enjoy life!
Thanks, Matti, We're trying to give insight while protecting the privacy of our clients. There is so much that goes on behind the scenes to keep these yachts running and the fantastic crew that gets the job done each and every day. Thanks for watching.
I have recently come across your channel as I enjoy Jarred Watney, I hear many South African accents. What would be nice is doing a video on to get to know the crew, what job they do, where they are from and how did they end up on this boet. Those are always great videos. Gives us an insight into the boat and its people. Love the content so far.
Thanks. Som ideas is what you might feel is boring. Like going in and out of port. Preparing to launch. Setting up for special events, provision. Looking forward to this channel.
There are quite a few saffas on the crew. There are a ton of saffas in the yachting industry today looking for better opportunities than what they can get at home.
@@motoryachtloon 🤝🏻 thanks 😉!!! I'm an Italian PETROLHEAD (a "LAMBORGHINI fan🐂" above all things), LOVER 😍🥰😍 of MOTORS in all their forms: car (sport/super/HYPERCAR 🚀) or motorbike 🏍️ or yacht (open/sport/super & MEGA⛴️)... ...and believe me 🤝🏻, being a LOVER of BEAUTY & DESIGN I've always LOVED the 68m SuperYacht "ICON" (now "LOON") from the IconYachts shipyard; SUPERB profile, WONDERFUL hull color (it may not be the longest and most opulent 🤷🏻♂️, but "Crescent" MegaYacht by Lürssen/Espen Øino is MY UNREACHABLE and UNTANGIBLE DREAM 😫😩😖😣😩 on water 🌊🌊🌊)!!! But the thing I LOVE most about "LOON" is the layout of the stern, like this: OPEN, with a BeachClub/Area that's SIMPLY ---> SENSATIONAL (I prefer not to imagine 😕🫤🙁😟🥺 how many "things" you can do there w/ your BELOVED PARTNER & ALL YOUR FRIENDS, stand with your feet 🦶🏻🦶🏻 into water, in ONE of the "MOST WONDERFUL WONDERS" of the WORLD: the SEA 🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊🌊!!! PROSIT 🍻 from Italy & the MediterraneanSea... ...and BUONA VITA (GOOD LIFE) to EACH ONE of the LOON's CREW 😉🤟🏻💪🏻!!! CIAO 👋🏻👋🏻👋🏻 P.S. EDIT: - 😬 I hope my English is "acceptable" & NOT SOOO BAD 😅!!!
Such beautiful scenery. Would be awesome too take big family and grandkids on yacht. But it's just on wishlist. Just a dream that would be nice to come true. Y'all did such a great job. Just relaxing to watch videos. Thank you.
Please, on the next 'completed' walkthrough, try to take a similar style to what NautiStyles or Aquaholic would do with a proper walkthrough showing the actual walking through. Disjointed cuts from room to room do not adequately show the layout and space. Do a proper pan shot of the entirety of each room, don't just accidentally show us half a room on your way to the next stop. Please also show us things like the galley, the engine room, and if the crew permits, the crew areas as well. Show us the garage areas and tell us what sort of equipment is being stored. Finally give us some specs like total crew, cruising and maximum speed, range at economical cruising speed, etc.. Yes, some of those details won't be important to some guests, but they ARE important to yacht aficionados, and many of such are among those who would book charters.
Nice little tour. Obviously everyone wants to see crew cabins, the galley with the whole 'meet the chef' and the engine room. I'm curious what is in those giant lockers up front you kept showing. I assume a rescue tender and jet skis, but maybe it's not and is filled with additional provisions. I know it isn't really, but that would be funny if that hold was filled with soda, water, liquor, snacks and other stuff.
I love yachts and have always followed them. I used to think I would love to own one. However, one major downside I have learned, is unless its an explorer yacht like the Octopus, there doesnt seem like there is much to do.
Octopus is amazing, but she was designed to be a world cruiser exploring way off-the-path destinations. Everyone is different and builds these yachts to their needs. :)
I hope the crew will be able to achieve the high standards of professionalism and competence as demonstrated by the crews in the TV series Below Deck....
Congrats! Beautifull yacht👌. Question, it looks very stylish but, no offence, a little bit like a ‘furniture book’. Would it be nice to add some personal items (like art) and more liveliness with plants to give a little contrast to the natural colours? Just a suggestion by a fan😊. Keep going on with your great video’s!!
New subscriber here. Love the content and openness. Suggestion: stop using a fish-eye lens as it distorts everything. Some zoom is required but not too much please. You need to get Nick Burnham of the Aquaholic RU-vid channel to do a review. He runs the best boat review channel out there.
The 'best' is a tossup between Aquaholic, NautiStyles and Yachts For Sale. Which of those is 'best' is a subjective opinion. Any of them would do a fantastic walkthrough.
Nicely presented video, but a little disappointed not to see the galley, bridge or engineroom. Can these be included in a future video please ? Good luck, and best regards
@@motoryachtloon Thank you for your reply, and I have a little caution you might like to consider for future videos. I suspect that like me most of this channels subscribers are boat owners or users and are largely familiar with nice interiors. I subscribe to a classic car workshop channel and the workshop owner says he is constantly amazed at the small details his subscribers want to hear about, so don't be surprised if people interested in MY Loon want to hear about refueling procedures and paperwork, the disposal of black water, and the hundreds of other operations necessary on a craft of this type. Widens the scope a bit, doesn't it ? Best regards, and good luck to all of you.
I wonder what kind license is needed for a boat like this. I tried to research this, but it's all so confusing, and probably depends even on where the boat is registered. I could never find straight answers. Maybe we could get some videos explaining the legal side of running such a vessel?
I would love to see crew quarters, bridge and galley. (Lots of other people like seeing the engine room, too.) I don't think I've ever seen scaffolding on a super yacht before. Is it safe to say that someone else is going to be painting the yacht and not the crew?
Thanks, we plan to show more over the next few weeks. Yea, we have a professional paint team in doing the Hull works while the crew are doing jobs around the yacht.
So I been watching your videos for a while.. did you buy the boat.. and weren't you the captain on a Loon vessel? Little confused if this is a NEW loon that you guys bought (crew??) or you're crew is just showing the loon you have been part of for a while now?
I'm devouring all your videos! I got a question: if a boat is at anchor just out of a port, does one need to pay for standing there? or one pays only when docking? thanks
Thank you.. Depends on some places we do and others we don't. In Italy mostly yes we have to pay. In The Carib and Croatia its usually free to anchor 🤙
Not true, We have a very diverse crew. We do have quite a few Saffas onboard that make up the majority but that's the way the industry is right now. Captain Paul is Australian, Chief Engineer Ross is British, Chef Dean is Aussie, 2nd engineer is Kiwi, we also have Croatians, a few more Brits, a Czech stew + a few others.
Nice interior but way too many square, sharp corners. Even on the lamps. Hurt when you hit them in rough weather. Sweeping curves are better, safer and easier on the eye. Although far more expensive to build into furniture, especially on a boat.
Dude, your videography and camera skills are on point! Love the way you capture all the cool stuff. By the way, it would be awesome if you could also show us the engine room, fuel setups, toy lockers, and, of course, the galley. I think a more in-depth look at each section would totally immerse us in the experience. But hey, I'm super stoked to travel along with you guys and gals! Can't wait for the next video! P.S. I know you mentioned there'll be a full tour at the end of "Yard", just wanted to let you know I'm pumped for that too!
This was NOT a tour. This was like barely a highlight real. Give us a WALKTHROUGH tour, so we can see the WHOLE boat, non-stop no cuts. This was a confusing mess of a mashup of shots all over the boat.
Thanks for your comments Gregg, Please remember this is only our second video and we're doing the best we can. We hope to have a better one out shortly.
Where are the tenders stored? I noticed a hatch open on one of the aerial shots, but would that hold your tenders and jet skis? This is a really beautiful yacht. I look forward to watching the "after" video!
Hi Vicki, They're coming, hopefully, in the next few weeks. It's hard while on charter to film in the crew areas due to the crew sleeping schedules, but we'll get it done. Thanks for watching.
