A Tour of the Triangulum Galaxy [4K]

The Milky Way is surrounded by more than 50 near neighbour galaxies that make up the Local Group. The two largest galaxies are us and Andromeda, but we also have an often-overlooked third large galaxy in our neighbourhood- the Triangulum Galaxy. This galaxy is like its own mini-Milky Way, containing stars, clouds, clusters, supernova remnants, and satellites. These are the checkpoints in the Triangulum Galaxy which make up our tour today.

The Triangulum is my personal favorite galaxy as it is far more colorful and more beautiful than many other galaxies in my opinion and I feel as though it isn’t mentioned near as much as the andromeda even though it should be
@houserhouse
@houserhouse 3 месяца назад
@@Gregg69420 I've always been fascinated by it because the milky way and andromeda pull in all the attention because of their sizes. In reality, the local group will eventually be a single galaxy containing both of them AND Triangulum, so I think all three galaxies are really just the fetal phases of the massive super galaxy that our distant descendants will inherit

@@sea_space I think the format works great in highlighting the unique aspects of the astronomical bodies. The size of Andromeda and it’s fated collision with the Milky Way; M-33 and it’s intense star-forming regions and small galactic nuclei. With proper spacing (pun intended) I’m sure the audience would look forward to seeing one every 6 months to a year, time and engagement permitting. Thank you for your response and tremendous work!

Another excellent video. Of all the challenging concepts, I think the whole idea of passing galaxies that don't involved colliding stars is the hardest perspective. We see these galaxies as small, compact objects that seem to have its galactic star population all crammed together. Then contrasting angular size with cosmic distances one can get a better appreciation for the space between the stars. But it is a hard thing to picture. You do a great job making it possible to imagine.

@galacticbob1
@galacticbob1 Год назад
If you send your "next-door neighbor" galaxy friend a message such as, "let's go to the park," then in 3 million years or so they will receive it. They will send a reply like, "no thanks mate, maybe next week," and in another 3 million years your descendants will receive the reply, and be disappointed on your behalf. Now consider that our predecessor species Homo Habilis was around about 2 million years ago. Your disappointed descendants 6 million years from now would most likely be several species' worth of separation from the you that sends the invitation today! And that's to send a message to our next-door galactic neighbor. 🤯 "Space [...] is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly hugely mind-bogglingly big it is. I mean, you may think it's a long way down the road to the chemist, but that's just peanuts to space." -Douglas Adams

Another absolutely amazing job SEA. You've created a excellent place for me to "space" out man. Thank you so much for your work.

As an overview into this fascinating neighbor of ours, this video is fantastic. I could easily watch hours of talking about each thing in this video in-depth. Hat's off once again and thank you so very much for bringing the world this content!

This Video introduced me to your channel a year ago and it has no peers on RU-vid! I was looking for something that would help me break down M33 when I show my images of the Galaxy to my friends and family! It’s fantastic work as well as your work on M31! Great job! Cheers!

So glad you enjoyed it! I also make these productions so I can research a complete “under the hood” piece about objects like M33 where there’s lots of contrasting pieces of information. So if it helps you then it’s achieved its endeavour! And thank you so much for the donation as well 🙏💙

Wow what a unique galaxy. Even cooler it's one of our neighbors. Thanks for introducing us to the cool neighbor we didn't know we had.
