Looking for a recommendation I'm planning a 2 week stay in accra. Coming from the states... Is OSU a good place to lodge? Hoping to be near restaurants and shopping if at all possible.

I get pissed off seeing a place Kwame Nkrumah built and no money is spent to renovate the grounds. Looking at the beach at the backdrop makes me even very unhappy. Look at the filth, very shameful.

I wouldn’t really hold them against them for the trash on the beach. It’s not like Ghana is the only country with filthy beaches, and I bet that they definitely have stretches of clean, well-kept beaches for conservation and tourism purposes. It’s hard to keep the beaches of a major city clean, or any body of water for that matter. The river that runs through New York is a toxic cesspit, for example, but that doesn’t mean New Yorkers should be ashamed of trying to get tourists to go there.
The fishing village of Jamestown properly defines the local culture of Accra to the tourist. The tourism people SHOULD clean up the place and provide sanitary facilities for the locals. Lots of tourists go there and are met with filth

A typical African man in West Africa seem to be quite different from a typical African American man. The former is usually slender in build, without beard, while the latter tend to be buff and with facial hair.

Sorry that you don't like the video. It features Princess Umul Hatiyya's personal favorite places in Accra. It is not about "marketing" Ghana. With any place in the world you will face the "problem", that many would choose other favorite places than the protagonist of the video.

@Bonsi Andrew Please don't accuse her of lying, that's unfair, even If you'd be right about the size. According to Wikipedia the largest City square would be Xinghai Square in Dalian, followed by Times Square in Daquing, both in China.
