This one was all new to me. Windmill was completed last year and enables a 20+ mile "downcountry" style loop. Noah Sears and I started and ended at the Butterknife trailhead. After climbing the road to Bangs Canyon, you begin on a slickrock section that is very much like The Ribbon. After going way over 40mph and almost dying a few times, you are then rewarded with rolly polly singletrack for about an hour and a half, before ending at the Colorado River. If you get lucky on the climb back out, there will be a squad of cows emitting poop and causing a ruckus. Just the boost we needed to get us up the 2000ft climb, back to the car. We stopped for about 5 minutes total and the loop took us about three hours. Maybe 4000ft of elevation gain total?
