This may not be credited to Dilla but I feel his style all over this groove so it sounds like Tip was definitely heavily influenced. But the craziest story about this one is that Tip played it for Biggie in hopes of getting an Ummah track on Life After Death in early 1997. Big absolutely loved the joint but couldn't use it for Life After Death since he just finished the album and turned it in to Bad Boy. Sounds like Big would've used it eventually for his 3rd album Born Again since he messed with it so heavy though as a fan. It's crazy because that could have changed the course of hip hop a bit had Big used this joint. Q Tip and Dilla would be even more household names in the rap game eating off more publishing checks on other people's joints like an official Dilla and Big collab would've been crazy. Also if Big was vibing to this, it's a stark contrast to the music from Life After Death and would've set the tone in a crazy way for his 3rd record. That's the vibe I get from this.
You can sit in your house and just chill. Or go riding late night on the town and just look at the city lights or look up at the stars and let your mind go free. 😌😌 these were good times.
everybody sayin certain people aint gettin credit for this masterpiece...its a tribe called quest man..anyone in tha group gets it even if they didnt do much
Thank you for this one...❤️ Good morning Philly ❤️🖤💚 another Beautiful muggy morning but we have life so protect your Peace.. @ThePoppMonster Glad someone recognizes that Ummah wasn't all Jay Dee, but Tip said in the TCQ documentary that he only did the beats for the first 3 Tribe albums(pre-Ummah), so it could be Shaheed. Props on actually reading the liner notes of "The Love Movement" album too.
Straight up, I don't even like getting into the ummah discussions myself. Fuck I mean, Tammy Lucas was supposed to be signed on as a part of the ummah. So then wed be arguing who wrote the hooks? Lol but I love what tip did with this joint. Almost wish he would've held on to it for Amplified
SaySol- Ben Yehoshua I was reading an interview that Q-Tip did with Vibe...he actually made this beat for Biggie! He let Biggie hear the beat in early '97, but Biggie told him that he was tired and already finished recording the Life After Death album.
@@solgryn4591 Each member of the Ummah did their beats individually. If you read the credits for this track (which you obviously didn't) you'll see that J. Yancey is not a songwriter...he is a songwriter on 8 other tracks on the album, and there's even a note in the credits that lists "tracks initiated by Jay Dee of the Ummah"...this wasn't one of them.
OMG WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTT !!! they Kiled itttttttt whoooooooooo...uh uh uh nshake ya boooty now uh uh....do ya dance now the love love love what what what! sounds lke some old space age jetsons jam . flying in my space ship cruisin with my honeydip.haha.
When I hear these drums, they sound EXACTLY like the drums from "Give Up The Goods" and "Drink Away The Pain", which were both produced by Q-Tip. So, no, those are not Dilla's drums. If anything, Dilla bit Pete Rock and Q-Tip's style of drum programming.
@oOViperrrr6Oo The Ummah is the production umbrella that Tip, Ali and Jay Dee were under, but they all did stuff on their own look at the liner notes again, this was a Tip solo production

@zbhelm - Certainly because he's on the all album, and you don't need to believe what's on wikipedia or on album's jacket, bassline, snare, all on this beat is Dilla, Dilla's fans knows it. Don't forget that they discredit DIlla for the 'Got 'till It's Gone' beat. Trust me, i heard Dilla on this.
honestly no one raw as me so they keep me on repeat constantly/ on the beat let me go and i get in zone/ then i treat all your heads like stepping stones/ any song I'm getting on get me stoned, still stay getting stoned with plenty hoes twenty fo/ rubix cube to you, in fact, greater than sitting behind a fine booty in class, then hitting it with dooby in hand, from the back in the back/ in rap ima new cat but I'm not new to the craft/ so i still shoot at no matter who in my path/ and i tell you many mother fuckers in my path, seems like they try to clutter that shit like trash so please don't act and then front saying you ever heard blunted rap shit like that/
@seboufdu59 Yeah but Dilla wasn't discredited for his work on "The Love Movement", there are certain tracks in the credits where it says "J. Yancey". Only stubborn-minded Dilla fans will guess it's Dilla("listen to the beats and the drum rolls dunny dun dun,it's Dilla dunny dun dun"). It also shows that you have a huge disrespect for people like Ali Shaheed Muhammad. So of-course I'm gonna read the album jacket's credits, rather than look like a idiot by guessing.

if any of you kats were tru DILLA heads, you would know that he did 90% of the tracks on this album. He talks about it in an interview he did. Tip is great, but when he took credit for tracks he didn't do, that kinda jus threw the respect level down for me.
bro. buy a mic. sample the beat. use this verse. its a slim chance you'll make it anywhere (sad truth) but if you do you damn well deserve it. keep writing.
The love bug drug lies like rugs. Beautiful at first but ends with the face of a pug. Dont drink coffee but she gave me a mean mug. The scene sucks. She old school, like my clean chucks.
