We talk with living legend Kristie Peterson on how she started her career, the horse that made it all happen, and a heart felt good bye to one of the most famous, and greatest barrel horses in history, Bozo.
It's so wonderful to see people that care for their horses past what they can do for them in the ring. I love that she retired him early and sound and cared about his well being. He was a beautiful horse.
I loved this team! I met Kristi twice & stood next to Bozo the first time I met her. He was a big horse! Kristi was so humble & so nice! I didn't know Bozo had passed last year. Very sad. He was one of a kind of sure!
Wow I just watch the show on Kristy Peterson and bozo and wow what a story it was so touching to see that she truly loved and was grateful to have him now iam even crying great great story !!
I love that Bozo was for sale but noone wanted him which meant Kristie got to keep her once in a lifetime horse and show off his talent, as a team with her, to the rest of the world. This is really an awesome example of "what is meant to be will find a way". Love this family and Bozo was an amazing athlete.
Just Love the family and history! I watched jordan win it all last year and it was then that i heard who her mom is! ❤ you guys are an amazing inspiration....love you ladies!🥰
Had a cousin (Joyce Jackson) that ran barrels all over and in Canada. I know her relationship with Smokey Dude was so very close. I enjoyed watching your memories and thank you for sharing. I can still see it hurts....
What a beautifull big horse. You can see from his his face he loved his sport.. He lived for it from what l can see on the film. You are correct when you say you are lucky if you get the one like that but it also takes the combination of the ride meshing with the horse on all levels. As a stock man and cattleman here. In Australia l have found that l have ridden and trained may horses and one l remember well was a bolter.she was abig 18hand quarter horse and. Long. Even thebolting she had a beautiful gait. My brother told the guy that owned her l would handles her then promptly found she was to much for him . I was eager to rider her after that but something bugged me about and one day l took her to a neighbour s Where l handled the horses and did most of their stock work with the three brothers who were boss. I got on and the first thing she did was try to. Bolt but l pulled her out of it. And ride her all day doing cattle work. It turned out l was the only that could ride her and trust her every one else would end up bailing if or getting collected by low hanging trees. I ended up buying her from her owner because none of his family could ride her.
I remember watching you and Bozo run at the finals. He is definitely a horse with a BIG HEART! Saddened by his loss, lovely memories. How fortunate for you and him. He had an amazing life ♡

I never got on a horse in a yard as I would have them so quiet even on the first day. Now most times l ride them with three hours if starting to work them.
