A Tribute to the Prairie People
Upon the vast and open plains, where wild winds freely rove,
Lived the proud and noble spirits, a legacy of love.
From dawn's first light to twilight’s shade, their echoes still remain,
The North American Indians, guardians of the plain.
Warriors fierce, with hearts so bold, in nature's grand embrace,
Horses swift as eagles' flight, they moved with strength and grace.
With bows and arrows, spears in hand, they hunted and they fought,
Defenders of their sacred lands, with every breath they sought.
In tepees under starlit skies, their stories came alive,
Of ancient dreams and endless trails, where their souls would thrive.
Buffalo herds that roamed so free, they followed in their quest,
Living with the earth’s own pulse, in harmony and rest.
The drumbeats spoke of unity, their chants of spirit’s fire,
A people bound by heritage, their legacy inspired.
The dances 'round the crackling flames, the wisdom of the sage,
Echoed through the canyons deep, through every turning page.
Oh, how the prairie whispers still, their footsteps in the grass,
A testament to lives well-lived, their memory shall not pass.
For in the hearts of those who know, their spirit’s ember glows,
A tribute to the warriors' pride, their strength forever flows.
From rolling hills to rivers wide, their presence still we feel,
The North American Indians, their stories we reveal.
With reverence, we honor them, the guardians of this land,
In every breeze that sweeps the plains, in every grain of sand.
