A Trip to Yosemite or Bjork Benny Rides Again!

Ice skating! Bobsledding! Skiing! Thrills, chills and spills! Jack and the gang pile in the Maxwell and race Phil Harris to Yosemite for their "vacation in the snow" at this glorious National Park! I hope you enjoy what I have done here and that this is as much fun for you to listen to as it was for me to compile - if so please tell a friend! I endeavored to create a cohesive and entertaining narrative using only the Yosemite and Yosemite related episodes. The edits - things I cut out - were in service to creating a narrative flow. This is not meant to replace the episodes in question and I highly reccomend seeking them out and listening to them in their entirety. Some of the bumpers, intros, commercials and songs that were left on the cutting room floor are simply fantastic. The Oakland Benefit "concert" is one of my favorites - and you only get a taste of it here - I hope you all listen and enjoy! - P.S. only 1 sound effect was added from outside of the story ark - I just felt like it fit so I broke my own rule... P.P.S. Yes, there is some politically incorrect dialogue contained here which I left in tact, I do not condone it but my job was not to censor for content but edit for narrative flow - I hope this can be looked at in the context of the time in which these episodes were originaly created and broadcast - and not thru the same 2013 PC lens that somehow feels it is appropriate to edit Mark Twain. For the record I feel that Rochester was Jack Benny's equal in every way and was a fantastic performer - and if you do the research - a great American.

So entertaining - the cast is hilarious and stellar. Jack Benny was the best, Rochester gets the big laughs (deservedly so) and Mary cracks me UP. Thanks for doing such excellent compilation work - I know how time consuming that can be.

Sure, as long as he refrains from censoring them, and virtue signaling in the description. But I doubt he can.

Always loved him. Named my son Jack. Loved it when someone, usually Mary messed up her lines on the radio and Jack made a funny comment. Also, when someone broke him up on TV, usually Mel Blanc. He couldn't stop from smiling and his eyes just twinkled

Thanks for this extended edit. It's great to hear episodes I haven't heard before....About 30 years ago we had a local radio station that played old time radio shows. Jack Benny was always my favorite and I did record some off the radio. What is the date of these episodes ? THX !

Not in this story! Jack was boasting that he could skate/ski like a Norwegian and that he was therefore known in Waukegan as Bjork Benny.

The person who posted this says the opposite of what you're accusing them of. First, the description says (of any edits done: were in service to creating a narrative flow. This is not meant to replace the episodes in question [THEN COMES A RECOMMENDATION to seek them out and listen to them in their entirety, adding: Some of the bumpers, intros, commercials and songs that were left on the cutting room floor are simply fantastic. [THEY CONTINUE ON WITH THE FOLLOWING] Yes, there is some politically incorrect dialogue contained here which I left in tact, I do not condone it but my job was not to censor for content but edit for narrative flow - I hope this can be looked at in the context of the time in which these episodes were originally created and broadcast - and not thru the same 2013 PC lens that somehow feels it is appropriate to edit Mark Twain. [SO, I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE ACCUSING THE POSTER OF IN YOUR COMMENTS. CAN YOU BE SPECIFIC? THANKS.]

Rochester couldn't eat in the diner, or didn't have time?? I didn't think there were ever "whites only" or "no colored" establishments in California. But, I'm not sure.

At least Rochester, who lived in the west instead of the south, was NOT a victim of Jim Crow laws! Thank God Martin Luther king killed the Jim Crow octopus before it could spread its tentacles beyond the south!
