Golden Water Mirror è un poema sinfonico "urbano", commissionato da IBW e MMF per grande orchestra di ottoni e percussioni, che vuole
celebrare il fiume Arno proprio laddove questo, nel suo delicato incedere, si concede quasi una sosta fatata, un
ossequioso "inchino" alla Città di Firenze, proprio nel punto dove questa riflette la sua magnificenza sulle acque
del fiume: il "quadrato magico" racchiuso tra Ponte Vecchio, il Corridoio Vasariano e i prospicienti edifici di Via
de' Bardi, quale naturale prolungamento del Lungarno Torrigiani.
Quanti personaggi si sono "specchiati" in questo
fazzoletto di acqua di poco più di cento metri per cento. Artisti, poeti, pensatori, visionari, ingegneri, architetti,
scienziati, inventori e appunto amanti di ogni epoca e di ogni luogo che qui hanno probabilmente sostato e lanciato almeno un
fugace sguardo verso il fiume e la città, serbandone il ricordo per sempre.
Eccellenze della grande epopea del
Rinascimento fiorentino e non solo si sono qui consegnate alla storia semplicemente bagnando le loro anime e
le loro mani in queste acque, riflettendo le proprie sembianze in questo straordinario "specchio d'acqua dorato".
Da questa immagine poetica e un po' fantasiosa nasce il concept del brano sinfonico GOLDEN WATER MIRROR
nel quale le tematiche e i ritmi proposti invitano l'ascoltatore ad entrare dentro questo specchio d'acqua dorato
come in una bellissima fiaba che racconta di straordinari riflessi d'epoca e di incantevole magnificenza.
Golden Water Mirror
is an "urban" symphonic poem for large brass orchestra and percussion, which wants to
celebrate the Arno river right there where the river takes a break, a respectful "bow" to the City of Florence,
precisely at the point where it reflects its magnificence on the river's waters: the "magic square" enclosed between
Ponte Vecchio, the Vasari Corridor and the facing buildings of Via de' Bardi, as a natural extension of the Lungarno
Torrigiani.How many characters have "reflected" in this handkerchief of water of just over one hundred meters per
hundred. Artists, poets, thinkers, visionaries, engineers, architects, scientists, inventors of every age and every place
who have probably stopped here and cast at least a fleeting glance towards the river and the city, keeping their
memory
forever. Excellencies of the great epic of the Florentine Renaissance and beyond have consigned themselves
here to history simply by wetting their souls and hands in these waters, reflecting their features in this extraordinary
"golden mirror of water".
