To give some information, Narnia is actually, a Christian series! The author C.S. Lewis was a Christian author and he made A LOT of Christian books and made the Narnia series. So when you saw Aslan's death on the stone table, he had taken Edmund's place of his death. His death was the representation of Jesus's death on the cross when he took our place of death. He died because that was part of God, His Father's plan. Scripture says, *"For the wages of sin is Death. But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord."* (Romans 6:23.) Our greatest punishment is death. And we do things that God knows is not right. All the bad things that we say, do, and have done is called *sin* and we deserve to go to the eternal place of punishment we endure for the rest of our lives known as *Hell.* However though, we don't have to go through the punishment because we are all saved from it. God sent His Son, Jesus to die on the cross and redeem us from our sins. And he took away the greatest punishment and payed the price for it. And so we would no longer worry for our coming to end fates of our lives in all of us. So when YOU believe in Jesus, and believe that He died for you, you will become one of His Children and you will be with Him when You live with him in the most greatest place in the world: *Heaven* where you will no longer be in sin, have sadness, fear, or anger. You will never feel or be alone, you will no longer have sickness or injury, and everything that was on earth will be gone...for good. Because you are apart of God's children. Scripture says, *"And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away."* (Revelation 21:4) So, when YOU get this chance, believe in God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit, and remember His promise for what He did for you. All you have to do...is accept it. You will, have, and now start a new adventure that is happening in YOUR life!!!

He Cody!, If you have any intrest in the books, there seven books: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe is the second in the story of them all. Most of the story's are based of the life of Jezus and the meaning of live from the Bible. Also C.S.Lewis was a close friend from J.R.R Tolkien!, they both worked on all this mythical story ideas. Tolkien made Lord of the Ring about his experience with WWI ( Bad and Good)

@gracebrown3074
@gracebrown3074 3 года назад
Well actually technically he falls more into ravenclaw because he grows in wisdom and openness, the only slytherin trait he really holds is ambition. Susan fits into the slytherin role a lot more fittingly as she is very ambitious. She also values knowledge which is actually a slytherin trait not a ravenclaw trait. Because ravenclaws like to learn where as slytherins like to know and those two things are different is different. She is very resourceful and can be prideful which can be one of the traps slytherin falls into. Also she likes things to be traditional which is a very slytherin trait. Edmund is a lot more flexible and over the series we see very clearly that he likes to learn and grown which is very Ravenclaw. However yes his ambition is very prevalent especially in the last movie. But I don’t think that trait on its own would tie him over as we can very clearly see that Hermione and Percy themselves are very ambitious despite being in Griffindor. Just my two cents feel free to respond with your own thoughts.

C. S. Lewis wrote a prequel called "The Magician's Nephew" about how Narnia, the White Witch and the wardrobe came to be. That starred a little boy named Diggory who came to Narnia through magic rings made by his uncle. Long story short, a tree sprouted by the magic rings and an apple from Narnia and when the boy grew up the tree was knocked over by wind and he fashioned it into a wardrobe that he put in his house. That boy was the professor. There's more but it would take too long to type. I commend this movie for making that small detail with the professor the book didn't really have (likely because the author hadn't come up with that origin story yet). Shame they never finished the series.

The professor knows about Narnia because in the prequel of Narnia (The magician's nephew) he goes to several worlds until he witnesses the creation of the Narnia world by Aslan (the professor is the reason why the lamp-post exists on Narnia, he is also the one that brought the White witch to Narnia) PS: English is not my first language, sorry for any mistakes.

I'm glad this film filled in that Plot hole in 'The Magician's Nephew' in the book version of this, he sort of believes in Lucy's Story, but he acts like he's never been there, he has when he was her age! so in the movie when Susan told him about there being a magical land in the wardrobe, it sounded familiar to him.

The Professor is actually the “magicians nephew.” I’m the books he was around when Narnia was created. He picked a special apple from Narnia to cure his moms sickness. He ended up planting the apple, which grew into a magical tree. When the tree was knocked down years later, the wood was used to created the wardrobe from this movie! Since the movies never fully explain it, Professor Digory Kirke knows a lot more about Narnia than most people who live in Narnia. In fact, he was there when Narnia got created. He witnessed Aslan creating an entire world. And he's also the reason why the Witch was there in the first place. Because she also witnessed Aslan creating the world. You see, his uncle was able to make some rings that allowed people to go to different worlds. Digory's friend, Polly, was tricked into trying on one of those rings without knowing that and got teleported away, so Digory went after her after a bit of blackmail from his uncle. They then found the Witch in a different world and accidentaly freed her, she came back to the human world with the two for a while and after that when they managed to bring her back to the "world between worlds" they took the wrong tunnel and got to Narnia on the day of it's creation. Digory, since it was kinda his fault that Jadis, the witch, was there, was then sent by Aslan to get to the Garden of Youth and get an apple from there to plant a tree that would protect Narnia for a few centuries, 898 years to be precise. He took one of the apples and went back to Aslan who planted the protective tree. Digory then got one of the apples from the new tree and brought that back to his world, where he used it to heal his mother. He planted the seeds of that apple, it grew into a strong tree and when that tree got blown over by a storm he built the Wardrobe out of that tree that came from Narnia. That is a tldr of the first book in the Chronicles of Narnia and I left out a lot of things here, so go read the book, it is worth it. But now you know that the Professor was one of the first humans to ever visit Narnia, in the hour it was created no less.

Yeah, it sucks that any attempts to adapt this series for the big or small screen seem to fizzle out after about 3 outings. This movie series only got to "Dawn Treader," and while the BBC's TV serial adaptation from the late '80s/early '90s got to "Silver Chair," they kind of cheated a bit by combining "Caspian" and "Dawn Treader" into one entity. I'm hoping to see proper film adaptations of _all 7_ books (even if they have to also redo the first 3) before ceasing to exist. 😕

Interesting fact about the Turkish delight that the witch gave Edmund: from what I remember from the book (though I haven’t read them in a while so this may be slightly wrong, feel free to fact check me) it has some kind of spell on it that makes it EXTREMELY addictive. Like, people have died of starvation because they wanted it so bad and wouldn’t eat anything else addictive. So that’s one of the reasons that Edmund went back to her

I love this movie trilogy so much! 2 fun facts: When Lucy first sees Narnia, that was her real reaction. Georgie (the actress who plays Lucy) was not allowed to see it as it was being built, so when it was time to shoot that scene, they blind-folded her so she couldn't see the set. And Skandar (who plays Edmund) wasn't allowed to socialize with the actress who played the White Witch so they could get his real reaction to her being in character. (so they wouldn't have a connection)

So supposedly Netflix is working on a movie version of magicians nephew, then a tv series of lion witch and wardrobe with a mini movie the horse and his boy followed by seasons of prince Caspian, the voyage of the dawn trader and then versions(not sure movie or show) of the silver chair and the last battle
@officialflikz

Disney got rid of it after the second one, and the third one even though it didn't do exactly well, Fox was happy with the numbers, they were going to make the magician's nephew, then Avengers came and set a new standard for what a "succesful Blockbuster" was, producers wasted too much time deciding what to do, the owner of the movie rights died and they got stuck on a legal limbo until finally in 2018 Sony bought them, but they also didn't know what to do (the cast was all grown up now), and they gave the franchise away to Netflix, who all this years have been promising a live action show. This series has suffered so much, and they don't realize now they're adults it's the perfect time to continue filming.

The universe of Narnia is way more then what's shown here, especially the back story of Aslan & the white witch(oh and the lamppost is a important symbol btw) Ps. I'm not sure if it's still being made but I have a book that contains all 7 books along with a whole section that contains all important information of the whole series and explains things pretty well for anyone who gets confused. Even the ending of this series surprised me Also there is a fan theory that each of the 4 siblings is the head of a hogwarts house, their personalities kinda fit if you really think bout it

The Battle scene is what made me fall in love with these movies: For one thing Peter’s is my childhood hero, and his armor, sword, and shield are awesome. The music is literally the greatest score I’ve ever heard for any movie. Peter using the gryphons dropping boulders, the same way the Germans blitzed London in the beginning of the movie. The fact the Peter’s charging forward with his soldiers into an impossible battle, while the Witch sits behind and allows her troops to go before her. It really shows Peter is more worthy of being the king than she is of the queen. And that Peter and the rest of Aslan’s soldiers have more honor the the Witch does. The slow mo shot of Peter’s army running toward the battle in sync, with the score playing in the background. It shows that even though they’re small in numbers, they’re strong in hearts, and brave enough willing to die for what they’re fighting for. True Warriors And then when the music cuts out, and all you can hear is the sound of Peter’s heartbeat. But his heartbeat isn’t fast, it’s slow, steady, and calm showing that Peter isn’t afraid. And that zoom in shot of him, is telling us that he’s no longer a boy, he’s a man…He’s a king. And then all hell breaks loose. Even that part I enjoy. I love how when armies collide and the fight actually starts, there’s no music playing in the background, it’s just the battle. It’s a good way of showing reality. War isn’t cool, it’s not fun, it’s bloody and scary. Also Peter’s army is just plowing through the Witch’s army, and it’s awesome to watch. Brilliant scene, Brilliant Story, Brilliant characters, Brilliant movie! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Well CS Lewis is a really lovely story, as he was for the majority of his early life a very strong atheist, and at some point in his life he came to a conclusion quite out of the blue that he actually believe in God, despite the fact he always told himself he didn’t, and that’s why he incorporated a lot of his sudden found faith into these books, Aslan is meant to be Jesus in a different form in that world. He even admits to it in a later book claiming that they need to look for him in their own world, which Lucy said “you are in our world?” to which Aslan says, “oh yes but there I have another name, and by knowing me a little here, you may know me better there.” As for the professor, yes he was once in Narnia at the very beginning of its creation and explains how he got the wardrobe, how the witch got into Narnia, and how the lamppost appeared, but it’s really complicated and to be honest it’s a really good excuse for you to read the books, you won’t be disappointed.

It’s been a while since I read The Magician’s Nephew, so I might get some details wrong. But I’ll do my best. Digory Kirke was a boy when he first was in Narnia. I think it was Aslan who gifted him with a seed (I think it was a seed). When he got back to our world, he planted the seed, and it grew into a tree. The tree stood for many years, but when the professor was much older, a storm knocked the tree down. He salvaged the wood to create the wardrobe. Since the wood originated from Narnia, it had magical properties. He never discovered the portal himself, but when he heard Lucy’s story, he automatically knew she was telling the truth. It’s a shame they never filmed The Magician’s Nephew, because it truly is a fabulous story. Edit: Now that I think about it, it might have been an apple or something that he brought back with him, and then he planted the seed from that.

A little bit about the wardrobe , the professor himself went to Narnia as a boy and his mother was sick, so Aslan gave him a seed from a tree to heal her because the fruit had healing properties ( can't remember what type of tree it is) . He brought the seed back to his world and he planted the seeds to heal his mother. Years later the tree was knocked down in a storm and he fashioned the wood into a wardrobe.

If you've read the books, you'd know that the Professor was the main character in another book (The Magician's Nephew) and traveled to Narnia, and I believe was the one to release the White Witch from her prison unleashing her upon Narnia. Asian lets the professor take an apple to heal his dying mother and the professor plants the core after his mother gets better. •C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien were friends and the two most famous Inklings, a group of high fantasy writers who would meet up in a pub. Their works define and set the bar for the genre. •Yes, Mr. Tumnus is a Faun. I remember getting into a big argument with a kid who insisted he was a Satyr. Fauns are the Roman name, while Satyrs are Greek. In this film series, Satyrs are more goat in appearance. C.S. Lewis studied Classics at Oxford University, so he includes creatures from Classical Antiquity in Narnia. •Yes, that is the White Witch, who for the past century has claimed to be Queen of Narnia and whose rule is marked in the history of Narnia as the Long Winter. •Apparently, this film led to a boost in Turkish Delight sales, despite the fact that Turkish Delight was meant to tempt Edmund. •Oh, Edmund's a much worse brat in the book. •Cricket •They let her choose as a form of apologizing for not believing her. Also, as the youngest, it helps to feel appreciated. •Many do, especially in Narnia, but not all of them. Narnia is the name of the world and of a kingdom which has overseas possessions. •In the book, Mr. Beaver reads them two prophecies. The other goes, "Wrong will be right, when Aslan comes in sight. At the sound of His roar, sorrow will be no more. When He bears His teeth, winter meets its death. And when He shakes His mane, we shall have spring again." •In the book, as Edmund continues onward towards the Witch's house, he gets nastier and nastier. •The White Witch has the power to turn people to stone. Hence why her courtyard rivals the Lair of Medusa's for most statues. •Edmund meeting Mr. Tumnus in the dungeon was not in the book. •Yes, that is Santa Claus or Father Christmas in the books. They chose not to say his name for marketing reasons. •The river scene was also not in the book. •Aslan is what Disney wanted the lions in the live action Lion King to look like. •Sir Peter Wolfsbane, Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Lion. •Santa said to trust in the bow and it would not easily miss. •Aslan is an allegory for our lord and savior, Jesus Christ. He is what Christ would look like in a world inhabited by talking animals. As Christ suffered and died on the cross to save the lives of all sinners, Aslan has offered himself to be slain in Edmund's stead. He will be mocked, bound, and shaved. He will suffer and die. As the song goes, "What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of Bliss to lay aside his crown for my soul?" •So the White Witch knows of the Deep Magic from the dawn of time, but she did not know that there was a Deeper Magic from before the dawn of time, which said that when a willing victim who had committed no treachery was killed in a traitor's stead, the Stone Table would crack and death itself would start to work backwards. Aslan, son of the Emperor-Beyond-the-Sea and the Christ of a world of talking animals, gave his life to save a sinner and rose again. •In the book, Aslan flies to the White Witch's castle. Also, the battle is not as prominent in the book. Aslan orders his army to move their camp and during the move, instruct Peter to prepare for two scenarios; either a battle in the woods or a siege of the White Witch's castle. •I always called that scene the General's Duel. •Yes. The statues in the Witch's castle are also Peter's reinforcements and as you can tell, he needs everyone he can get. •For his bravery in facing the White Witch and destroying her wand, Edmund is made a Knight of the Noble Order of the Table. •The 15-year reign of the Pevensie children is marked as the Golden Age of Narnia. Peter holds the titles of High King of Narnia, Emperor of the Lone Islands, and Lord of Cair Paravel. Edmund holds the titles King of Narnia, Duke of Lantern Waste, and Count of the Western March. Susan and Lucy both just have Queen of Narnia. •Aslan is needed elsewhere in the world of Narnia. As stated, he is not a tame lion. •The Professor appeared in another book and saw the creation of Narnia. He is not Aslan.

The Chronicles of Narnia are seven books, and this film is based on the 2nd book. The 1st book is about the Professor's travel to Narnia. It shows us the origins of Aslan and the White Witch. I strongly recommend you read them, especially the first one if you want the backstory, they're targeted towards children but still very good, touching stories. I was such a fan of these stories as a child. Had all the books, audiobooks, watched the terrible old BBC movies, then these movies as they were coming out. Wish they'd finished the series. Edmund is my favourite character, he's such a sweetheart. Not explained in the movie, but the Witch's food and drink is enchanted, which is why he kept wanting to go back to her, he couldn't help it. The two next films are not as faithful to the books but I still love them. Prince Caspian (2nd film) being my favourite. It's obvious that it's hugely based on real Irish history and myth, which I love, and of course CS Lewis was Irish himself. I actually visited the castle that inspired Cair Paravel. It's a magical world and humans are not meant to stay there indefinitely, so over time you start to forget about your past life. So they really couldn't remember having a life before Narnia. Fun fact, I think it's the girl who plays adult Lucy who was actually Lucy's real life older sister. I have no idea how you could be a fan of CS Lewis and not know he wrote Narnia, it's his best known work! Made me laugh.

Lewis’s the Space Trilogy, the first two books have Dr. Elwin Ransom (who may or may not be based on J.R.R Tolkien) as the protagonist and as a result in the third book That Hideous Strength, Dr. Ransom can be a mentor figure to Jane Studdock, the protagonist. In the Narnia books, Professor Diggory Kirk plays a similar role in relation to the Pevensies as Ransom does to Jane.

they actually blind folded the girl when se went in the winter forest for the first time. So they could get her real reaction for the movie.

They stay in Narnia during 15 years (in the book (I read it in french) and at the end, they even talk to each other with royal manners). Their reign is considered as The Golden Year of Narnia. Fun fact : the actress who played Lucy as an adult is the older sister of the one who played her as a child

There’s plenty of positive things in this movie to talk about, but in particular, I think the soundtrack is truly…magical!
