I love novelty instruments. I just got a ptrumpet today and it blew my expectations. I wasn’t expecting it to even sound like a trumpet. But to the untrained ear it sounds exact. Now don’t get me wrong I’ll choose my strad any day, but the ptrumpet is fun to play and is cool looking... and best of all I paid 78 bucks

That has a lovely tone! Nice playing, Trent! It does seem from your video that it doesn't want to be very bright for lead playing though, am I correct?

I think it's plenty bright but not as bright as some of the better commercial trumpets out there (like the Adams A5 or Schagerl Morrison Meister)

I love the carbon fiber look and sound. I’d bet the Swiss made valve block is slippery fast. I am surprised there are not more carbon fiber trumpet manufactures. It sounds wonder, Trent.

Be careful buying a carbon fiber instrument online... I purchased one from a RU-vid ad at the end of Sept, was charged 11 days later & got a confirmation email from a personal Gmail acct. When I requested a tracking # the acct was deactivated & I didn't print the confirmation page showing the website or company information at that time and the website is now gone.

how big is the room you are playing in? the reverb sounds a bit unreal :O the trumpet sound is great though

Trent, perhaps you could help me again? The instrument maker does not make any claims to do with a unique sound; hearing you play the trumpet sounds similar to any other pro horn, in tune plenty of harmonics etc. However they do claim that it is 'more efficient'. Do you feel anything, in terms of less or more feedback, response from behind the bell? And how about the dynamic response if you play, say, four concert Fs from below to above the stave. Thank you

Wonderful as always, said you used a different mic than you usually use. Did you use any effects, or was that the clean sound? It was different than any of your other video sounds, heard a lot more reverb in the sound. But as always, have no doubt it is a great trumpet. It really pops and hits the center of the tone, even on the fast passages.

@@austincustom Thought I heard that, but didn't know how big your demo room is. If it is a showroom, might just be the natural effect. I demo'ed a few horns at Capitol Music, in Montgomery, Al, and noticed Jim Darby always shepherded me to the same place in his showroom, where you got this incredible cathedral effect, lots of resonance. I always sounded a lot better than I am.

@@austincustom I recognized some stylistic element you've played that Dorham also often does in his playing. That little bend at about 2:25...Anyway, It's actually kinda funny, cause i was listening to that tune in my car recently but didn't know the title. Shame on me! :p Sounds very nice on that Carbon trumpet though! Could you maybe tell me some more about the setup you use to record your trumpet playing. Love that reverb and that new intro too!
