I'm happy for you. There's a market I used to go to to sell my art and barely anyone bought my art. I'd get a lot of attention and sometimes people took pictures of my work but no one was buying.
@@kd1687 Yes I'm going to give this another go. To be honest I did make some profits. $100 every 2-3 months. But I'm still going to do this again and try other ideas too👍
"Five years ago, this would've been a dream come true for me"... I hope to be able to say the same. I'm about to embark on this life-long dream to become a full-time artist and researching shows for 2024. All insights provided have been very helpful. Good luck on your journey.
hey I went back to your selling videos again cause I'm ready to go all in and buy supplies to go out selling. I'm planning on buying my own printer and photo paper though. I have a plan to find a corner store near me to set up a table/booth and I'm buying a colored spinning wheel and when someone buys something they spin the wheel to win something free in the corner store like a soda or candy bar for example. I give them a ticket and when I decide to leave I pay the corner store for everything customers got for free. I'm coming back for some extra inspiration. Are you still not selling full time?
Girl I’ve been watching all your art market videos because I want to sell at my local market! And I flipped out when you said Eugene 🤣😭 that’s the one I’m planning on selling at!!!! Small world! Love the tips especially now that I know it’s possible where I live!
@@KaylaCarlileArt YES I’d love that! Your vids have been so helpful I’m kinda nervous but I’m hopeful, I’m going to start selling prints I’d love a video on how to take quality pics of my art!!!
Fees for space is fair but no way would I give 10% of my sales. They didn't create the work. When I was playing music professionally some venues tried that crap with taxing sold merchandise. If enough people refuse they will have to cave. Stand up for yoursel f
So was the art people were flicking through prints? On paper? Canvas? I’m scared mine isn’t good enough but you seem to do what I do and paint whatever you like, people say I need your stick to one thing but I love to do all sorts. So watching this helped a lot, thank you.
I’m genuinely curious based on how much you said it cost to be a vendor. What is the $50 membership exactly? What does that pay for if you also have to pay for the space + 10% sales fees (which I don’t think that’s fair). I may be wrong but it just sounds like they’re being paid 3 times.
Thank you! I have little metal hooks that slide into the canvas frame (They're on my Amazon item list in the video description!) and then I just tie a rope across my canopy frame and hang them from the rope. :)
