Well I am cold and snow illiterate. A lot to learn. Like the sound of boots on snow, very relaxing. I was born in your wonderful city. But immigrated when I was three to California. Which is now flooded (in some parts) and rained out. Ok, bundle up and keep warm. yours Blessings.
Hello from a Winnipegger. Good Winnipeg winter video Charles. Though I am a snowbird and miss most of the snow and cold (except this year we left late and caught a few cold temps) I was very happy to find your channel. I joined your community and look forward to seeing more of your videos. Cheers, Scott. PS, stay warm.
hi i am from israel . i like this video my sister lives in westwood neighbrhood winnpeg i visit it in october 22 . i like also yours videos of israel and songs also there . good night from me.
Now there is a man who loves his city as I do, thanks for this video, I like the cold weather because for the most part it keeps out some of "the riffraff" that plagues most of the world.
" I would take -30c with no wind than -10c with no wind" YES! Exactly....or put another way, I'd take -30c with no wind than a windchill of -30c..because in no way is that windchill the same as -30c......and ya, I'm in Da Peg
Wind makes a difference, but so does humidity. Winnipeggers often say "Yes, it's cold, but it's a DRY cold". I felt colder in -5C in Toronto or +5C in Vancouver than I ever did at -20C in The 'Peg. Dry air doesn't conduct heat away from your body the way moist air does, so as long as you've covered-up against the wind, you'll stay warm.
Safe is a relative term depending on where you presently live. Winnipeg is relatively safe as long as you know your surroundings. Winnipeg does have some of the poorest urban sections in Canada and there are serious drug and social problems. Theft, especially petty theft is very common. There are some firearm problems (60 or so a year) but nothing in comparison to a same sized city in the United States like Baltimore. I have friends that live in one of the poorer areas in Winnipeg and they are very attached to their community in a positive way. You can safely walk in the other ones without any fear.
@@charlesasullivan If you want to throw statistics around, Winnipeg is half the size of Compton California (notoriously known for gangs and crime) but reports double the violent crime.
Winnipeg is a city in the centre of Canada. It is located in the prairies and one of the last major cities you will connect before going to the arctic. It has beautifully hot summers that can zoom over +30 celsius and nasty winters that reach past -30 celsius.
