As complete beginners we were shocked at how easily it was setup and to start using. I think there is more learning with Lightburn than the engraver. Good luck and have fun.
New tool…new play thing. I look forward to seeing your plans. My hope is at least a Corner House Christmas ornament! Ooo, or a Halloween ornament….I would buy at least one of each. Ok enough of my wish list. Till the next vid.
We love you Dory, we really do :-) We look forward to hearing our plans too so we are open to ideas hahahahaha. We have always had plans even before moving and the new laser toy helps with the ideas. Is there anything else on your wish list you would like to share with us lol. See you soon :-)
Ben that is so cool!! If you took a photo of your intro with your house, you two in front, and your channels logo, put a pencil sketch filter on it, and ran that through it, I’d buy one to help support your channel! That’s a really cool device!! 😊💚
Love that idea! We still have the follow up video to do yet, so we will have a play around with that maybe. We have all sorts of ideas for things to do for the video so watch this space…hopefully not too long. 😊
It’s an amazing thing! All the possibilities of what we can do with! Can’t wait to try some stuff out. Some bits and pieces arrived today from Amazon to give it a try! So shouldn’t be long before video comes out 😘
Thank you Cynthia. It is a lovely bit of equipment and will be playing a big part in the future. Look out for the second video showing the laser engraver (Part of the requirement) and we will share our plans with you. Thank you for watching and commenting :-)
whoosh, whoosh, whoosh that's the sound of the technical details going over my head BUT I do have to say it was very interesting to watch and certainly a step up from one of my Christmas gifts which was half a dozen small wood rounds and a burner pen, not tried yet. Looking forward to hearing and seeing what your future plans are. Love the dresser Dawn.
It is a bit of a learning curve but makes sense as it isn't that far removed from the 3D printer I have. That sounds like a good Christmas present and if I remember rightly you are quite arty so should be fun. Mind your fingers on the tip though! A new table and a new dresser... we are getting there slowly. Thanks as always Carol xx
And this is why we love your comments Sharon. It is the first time you have seen the kitchen table properly. Solid pine table and 6 hardwood chairs :-) Facebook market place. Stuff the laser, you have a table and chairs hahahaha Have you noticed that your channel membership meant you saw the video before non channel members? I don't know if your notification tells you that or not? Thank you for bringing smiles to our faces with your comments.
Hi you two I agree with Sharon, I was busy looking round your kitchen😂 it looks so lovely and homely, I know it’s not decorated, but you’ve made it like home ❤️❤️lovely catching up on your progress, you always make me smile xxx
Sorry Marion, only just checked and saw your reply to a reply so late getting to you :-( Dawn has done an amazing job at finding places for things, making spaces for things and also making the whole house feel like a home. The living room is a work in progress still and our bedroom still has a million boxes, but the kitchen looks great and is where we spend most of our time. We will do a house walk around soon as we realised that nobody has seen the place since Christmas. Let us make the boxes look presentable and we will be there lol. Thank you for looking around our kitchen with Sharon. Next time stick the kettle on and make yourselves a tea or coffee :-)
I thought I was getting something beyond the norm. I watched the whole laser thing with fascination but more than that I was admiring Ben’s fluency in his demo. I thought he did a great job if a non ‘techie’ like me could understand! I have to say though I did love the table and even more so the dresser! 🤫
Dang, Ben. You guys are getting really high tech. Couldn’t help but be amused by the juxtaposition of 21st century technology in a 19th century room. How’s the indoor shower doing?
I am amused that someone "I know" has used the work juxtaposition in a sentence lol. But yes, joking aside it is certainly a mix of old and new. The shower isn't too bad at all thanks. The water heaters haven't really worked as planned with extra water pressure, but it certainly gets hot. We think we are going to have to speed up a new range with back boiler and a plumber. Thank you as always :-)
I like your channel but you guys have such long videos And I'm not sure everyone has as much time to spend watching half an hour and 45 minute videos from you guys. You may want to try breaking your videos up into 20 minutes segments You may get more people that watch to the end and you may get more subscribers. Just to suggestion but it may help you guys. 15 to 20 mins will get you 2 videos instead of one.
Hi It is one of those catch 22 situations. We have had comments where people like long videos and look forward to them, other people like yourself clearly like a shorter video. The length sometimes depends on what is happening. If we cut each video down to 15 to 20 minutes, we would either have parts 1, 2 and 3 or we have to cut out a lot of content. Personally for us, if it is someone we enjoy watching, we start at the beginning until the end, or we stop it half way through and watch the next day / evening, depending on what we have going on. Your suggestions are noted though and we aren't saying it won't happen.
@@thecornerhouseproject I understand but if you look at some of the most successful RU-vid channels like the petrix escape to rural France and a lot of them that I watch they're usually about 20 minutes at the most. That way you get people that totally finished the videos. But good luck to you.
Thank you very much indeed. I think it may have more to do with the fact that Dawn had just cut my hair and I had a shave too specially for this review video hahaha. Of course I will say hello to Dawn for you :-) Thank you for always being with us.
That was very interesting and well presented. Good Job! What are you going to make? I'm thinking pretty things to hang in the garden, tin butterflies and such.
Thank you very much. If anyone's mind is going to run away with ideas it is going to be you hahaha. We have a butterfly thing already. actually two, so maybe three or four won't hurt :-) See you soon :-)
@@thecornerhouseproject 🤣 Who me Sending you all lots of Warm Hugs and Love. Just think of all the craftsman cornices and stuff you can make for around windows and doors and banisters and on doors and and and
Well done, Ben great review, must mention the brilliant camera work. quite an exciting piece of kit, cannot wait to see how you are going to use it, looking forward to the next video..xx❤ ❤
Thanks Pa, he did a good job didn’t he? Right up his street that thing. It’s bloody amazing to be fair, sooo many ideas of what we will use it for, all 3 of us are excited to get using it properly! I’ll take the bow for the camera work 😉😂 thank you! Thought you might like the engraver….would be right up your street too! Xx❤️
Ben it looks as if you've never done anything else but show and explain the function of the new laser engraver, brilliant. Please get Dawn special glasses too, if you work together. Look forward to seeing what you have in store next time 😎
Thank you very much indeed Helen. I used to tech I.T and then was a trainer as well as having a public facing role in my previous lives lol. I did watch a lot of RU-vid to get used to the bits and pieces but it is much like my 3D printer really. We will be getting extra glasses just in case anyone should be round. The safety glass on the front of the laser module is great though. Hopefully not too long for another laser engraver update :-)
Where is my blush emoji? Thanks Caroline. If it is something I know about I am quite confident and seem to stumble more when I am making it up hahaha. Thanks again :-)
I loved listening and watching Ben set up his laser engraver .It looks a valuable piece of kit that I know you will Dawn use also.I must admit I admired the range. You have made a brilliant job of cleaning it up Dawn. Well done no easy job. Well done you two. Take care and God Bless xx
Thank you Colette, it was a nice video to make and a great thing to setup. An expensive thing so we are really lucky to have been asked to review it as it's value to us is huge. A bit like my 3D printer. We are all excited to use the engraver and cutter, we just have to find the time lol. Funnily enough, Dawn hadn't long cleaned the range so it did look better than normal, but believe me, the camera does lie as it doesn't look that good in person. Thank you very much and we will see you soon, well, you will us :-)
Great review, I've been following all of your progress closely and absouletly behind you in your struggles. What kind of fumes did you notice from the engraver....oops I asked that question a quarter of the way through the video, ....jasus :)
Hiya Oh we have some struggles, normally just as things seem to be going so well and then suddenly, something or somethings turn to sh1t. As for the engraver, for that example piece, it was a bit like have a really small bit of wood smouldering in the corner. Being in the room with it engraving wasn't an issue. When it cuts it does get a lot more smoke, but with the fan and door open it soon goes away. Fumes on acrylic will be a difference matter and this will either be done with us out of the room, or just not before we get the enclosure. Thanks for the comments :-)
Hi Sharon We were given the opportunity to have one and being a geek we said yes :-) Lots of fun to be had with that in the future. Thanks as always :-)
I am a bit of a geek, well, I am just a geek so was chuffed when they sent this to us. I am looking forward to using it more than I currently have. I need to get the 3D printer setup again too.
