I had an altar for quite some time until I sort of stopped worshipping the deities it was devoted to. I just felt so overwhelmed by the fact that I had to keep it constantly clean and I felt so pressured to have an altar that it wasn’t an entirely genuine part of my craft. I now just have some crystals representing each of them and getting rid of my altar was the right thing for my personal practice. I now prefer to dedicate certain actions/hobbies/activities to deities and I have dedicated jewelry that I wear sometimes. I did lose a lot of connection to my craft for a while, but I’m slowly trying to rebuild my craft from scratch and without influence so that I don’t make the same mistakes. Blessed be, y’all 💜

Beautiful!! I just recently moved from an apartment into a house but surprisingly I have much less space now so I had to rehome a lot of my witchy stuff!! It was so hard (think I’m a hoarder) lol. But it feels so much better downsizing my altars. Feels much more organized and almost intimate.

Your altars are gorgeous! I love how you have the one on top and then several different ones under it. If my derpy Doberman wasn't such a clutz, that would be the perfect setup for me, too 😂

Please make a mess of the pages that’s what it wants 🥰 I feel you though I always get so scared to ruin pretty journals lol. That’s why I like collage style journaling. LOVE all your altar spaces! Can’t wait to see what you do in your new space. I am the queen of making things fit in a small space. I have taken to fitting things in the ceiling beams 😅

for stacking the tarot cards I recommend a floating shelf especially if they are in the boxes.

I so connect with this. I moved a year and a half ago. My previous home I was able to have my own private room. Where I am now I have a place in my bedroom and I put a couple altars in my livingroom. It has taken a little getting used to. Luckily my husband is very supportive of my craft.

Confirm and agree: it's super cool 😎 I moved almost a year ago and it was my first size down too, and much as I rely on habit I had to accept things change and the altar I had before haa nothing to do with what I have now, and that's ok too ☺️
