Nice. In the first method, it will be easier to divide the numerator and denominator of the second component by 14: (15+√29)/2+14(1-√29)/28 = (15+√29)/2+(1-√29)/2 = (15+1)/2 =8 In the second method we can also divide the given expression by : √x (x-√x)/√x=7/√x √x-1=7/√x substitute √x=x-7 x-7-1=7/√x x-7/√x=8

Nah, it is like this: x-√x=7 Multiplying both sides by (x+√x), x²-x=7x+7√x Dividing all terms by x x-1=7+(7√x)/x Take the term (7√x)/x Multiply it by √x/√x Therefore we get 7x/x√x which when cancelled out equals 7/√x So our equation is x-1=7+7/√x Therefore x-(7/√x)=7+1=8 Much simpler, 9th grade level.

If you divide by √x then 7/√x=√x-1 so overall X-7/√x=x-(√x-1)=x-√x+1 From original equation x-√x=7 so result is 8

Why at 4:57 are you multiplying the left expression by 14/14? Could you not divide the right expression by 14/14?
