Nigel, just gotta say. you're the man for being that comment that doesn't like bait. even on photography videos there's people who will manipulate it. as a person who is also in the gaming community of other games and internet culture, comments like these are rarely looked up to unless looked up to by the right people. so good one you mate.

Love the comment about having someone at the car or at least knowing where you are. Many of us are alone and many underestimate the trouble we could get into if something goes wrong. I carry a satellite transceiver wherever I go. Also, when watching you gingerly move about I'm reminded that when I'm in precarious situations, I really slow down and focus intently on everything I'm doing. I do this mostly to be safe, but it has the fringe benefit of approaching the photograph with a mind that's slowed down. I also use the GFX 100 and it's cool to see how you're using it. Such a wonderful but complex tool, you can use it & set it up a myriad of ways. Thanks!

Your forest images are far from boring, Adam. It'll be a shame if those old trees get logged; please keep documenting them because you never know how long we'll have them.

I liked your original horizontal comp (minus flashing white under left center) and the vertical 4x5-ish shooting downstream - the rocks were still interesting due to the flo effect on the water having lightly glazed them. Nice stuff, thanks for taking the time to make these videos.

I enjoy looking at the 16:9 photo, it really works here. The contrast, the light, and being able to see all the details is beautiful. I would love to shoot out there some day in old growth forest. But as a West Virginian I can’t complain. I really need to work on my woodland photos. Thank you for sharing your expertise with all of us, Adam. Keep at it, stay healthy.

The 16:9 crop was a stunner and I am not surprised it's a place for you to return again. The b-rolllltalking head piece at 13.:48, the scene itself is just magical, like something out of a film set - I was imaging a pano style crop just under the fallen tree on the left. Rain.. sounds like Wales :) HNY

As often, due to personal taste, the black and white shot works best for me. Thanks for taking us out there while the Old Growth is still available in some form. Imagine how many compositions there would have been had we been lucky enough to beat the early pioneers to the area.......... hey ho

For such a busy comp, it absolutely works. Nice to see the b/w conversion. It's a good one. Pt. Renfrew is one fascinating place. Last there as a terminus after the West Coast Trail - singularly the craziest and borderline-nuts trail to do. Upon re-think? It's just nuts. Love the post, Adam.

Love it, Adam. Glad you revisited the spot under better conditions. I noticed you moving the ISO up to 400 on the first shot; with the gfx100 I've found that it's better to jump to ISO 800 if I'm moving it up to 400 anyways - ISO 800 is the second gain step on the sensor, I believe.

I’ll get to your neck of the woods eventually but living here in Washington I’ve got ferns growing wild in my backyard so I’ve shot my share of them. The nice thing about photography though...and evidenced in your video...is how often there isn’t necessarily a right way to crop a photo regardless of conventional wisdom. I thought that the blurred “waterfall” leant a bit of calmness to an otherwise busy, albeit gorgeous, photograph. Keep up the good work.
