Some of y'all new kpop fans wondering why are they the “Kings of Kpop”. 1.) Idols were never considered as artists before with lyricism and production. They even influenced kpop artists of today to compose their own. 2.)They broke the stereotypes. Before BIGBANG, every idols in a boy group were seen as robotic, flower/ boy style and with synchronized dancing and singing. 3.) BIGBANG helped introduce EDM (Electronic Dance Music) and Rap. Before, it was mainly R&B, Ballad, and Pop. 4.) They popularized EPs or Mini Albums. It started when they drop their album “Always” and with the hit song “Lies”. 5.) Their sense of fashion. Especially GDragon. When you saw this video on the time it was published you will thought that it's weird, but today it's normal. They can predict the fashion trend. Period. 6.) They're the first to use lightstick. Well before it was called "glowstick". Before it was just balloons and color to identify kpop groups. 7.) They're one of the KPOP groups who go international first. They spread the Hallyu wave all over the world. It's even impressive because internet is not really popular before, but that didn't stop them for being a star. Times, Grammy's, KCA, MTV, Billboards, etc. 8.) They're the celebrity of celebrities. Most people adore and are a fan of them. KPOP groups, actors, politicians etc. Mostly from KPOP industry. They're inspired and influenced by them. 9.) The SONGS. BIGBANG doesn't create just create catchy songs, Some songs, the lyricism is so magnificent. They're meaningful and filled with emotions you want to feel. 10.) Most fans don't idolized them because of looks, just pure talent. They were even called the "ugliest KPOP boy group" back in the days they were debuted. But people don't care for it, because the talent wins. 11.) Their stage presence. No one can beat their stage presence. The stage is powerful once they're performing. Every performance are eye catching. No lipsync required. All songs live. 12.) BIGBANG saved YG Entertainment. YG Entertainment before BIGBANG is just a small company. But BIGBANG were struggling for food to eat because they don't have enough money and GDragon composes a song every night. But all the hardships are worth it. 13.) They're still running in the KPOP industry for 13 years and now. So many scandals yet they're still standing on the stage. Performing. Hitting #1s on korean music streams without promotion or music videos published. That's why they're unbeatable. We can say, they're so many KPOP groups who are popular these days, but BIGBANG are untouchable. No one can imitate or copy beside themselves. Truly the legends of KPOP. They really deserved it. - From a fan since 2007.

BigBang is the only group I’ve see so many people from other fandoms acknowledging them as Kings of Kpop and it’s a well-deserved title. They paved the way for so many people, exposing korean music to the world without even meaning to or trying. They are beyond talented.

and their group started the trend of the creative lightsticks, they were the first group who had their own designed lighstick, designed created by gd, then yg thinks you can have a great profit from it. then everyone started to do it too 😂, like lightsticks are one of the good souvenirs for a fan.

I'm happy that Dae has more screentime in this Bigbang guide unlike the other that i've watched.

As a VIP, I love all the other unhelpful guides to bigbang but I love the fact that you made this even more because new kpop fans need an actual guide, a helpful guide. Best case scenario we get a new VIP worst case new kpop fans actually gain respect for the kings and stop embarrassing their idols who are also VIPs. Hopefully by the time they make their comeback new VIPs will be waiting alongside us :) By the way this is indeed a very very helpful guide I'm sooo happy you took your time with each member :')

Oh I love this.. but something that I also think really makes them deserving of the title “Kings of Kpop” was their way of revolutionary the industry; - They were the first Kpop group to write and compose their own music - They were the first group to introduce the concept of mini albums - The crown lightstick is the first official one - TOP’s early involvement in the film and drama industry helped create the bond we see today with idols in dramas (of course TOP was not the only one but also SUJU members, GG members etc) however, TOP was one of the first idols to win prestige-filled breakout performance awards for acting - Also we cannot forget that they are the best selling boy group - not just in Kpop - but of all time

Gosh cant believe I am their fan since their first debut. That was when my age is only 7 years old which is INSANE! Years of becoming fan and watching this making me teared up a little bcs I basically grow up listening to their song. They are older than me but it feels like we are the same age. The fact that one of the member is happily married seems unreal but im extremely happy for taeyang too. Cant wait for their comeback as 5 😭😭😭

I am also getting tired of hearing young people saying BTS are the Kings of Kpop, they don't know how Influential BigBang was to BTS and still are to them and many other 3rd gen kpop groups and recent ones.

What I respect most about Big bang is they never bought advertisements and they never purposely use other popular groups to boost themselves, therefore all the billions of views from their mv are through *organic* success. I also appreciate a group that don’t rely on manipulating mentally unstable fans (through cliche slogans or constant crying on camera) to sell more albums. Even though they have been dragged by media countless times and smeared by antifans they will remain kings of kpop forever and always

After Big Bang many started to debut groups with Big bang formula. Having at least one high tone and one low tone rappers. Composing their own songs or having strong leader wasn't a thing before BB. Kpop wasn't that much rap oriented like today,it was mostly pop and ballad. Previous groups usually had 1 rapper also they were not really rappers just people that can't sing thus getting rapper of the group title. Visual was the most important factor for boy groups.Not only that "flower boy" trend was at it's peak in Korea and other asian countries. Boys pretty as girls trend. That's why people were so shocked and called them ugly,everyone thought that they would flop hard. But then instead of acting like other idols they brought something new,targeted different market. Now that style became current mainstream Kpop formula.

Recently got into kpop cause of Jay Park and then went into the Big Bang marathon and have been obsessed, they are freaking legendary and I miss them!!!😍😭❤ Great guide!!

TOP's name actually came from Seven (ex artist signed under YG). His original name was going to be Mark because YG suggested it and when they ask him why he said that it was a guitarist he liked and thank god Seven came and saved the day by suggesting him the name TOP because it means the TOP of everything. At first, TOP was weird out by it like imagine people calling you TOP but it turned out great at the end as that is the name we know till now. P/s: He does look like a Mark to me...lol..hahahaha

Taeyang's rings linga was the first kpop song i heard back in 2013 and I fell in love with bigbang. For 2 years they were all i listened to until 2014 when i discovered bts and started getting more invested in other groups as well. Now i'm still a raging kpop fan but bigbang still are to me number one and the greatest kpop group there is. Even after Seungri's scandal I love bigbang. I still love seungri's music too. I just think he's a total dckhead:)

True facts. Bigbang is just so iconic. And I get mad when younger fans put them down. But I can't blame them completely, they've never been exposed to BB like I have. And most of them are already hardcore fans of other younger bands when they come across mentions of BB and they get upset when people call BB the kings instead of their own stans. I feel the same way. I am fixated on BB, so I really can't place anyone else above them. Though I really like some of the 3rd gen groups especially regarding choreos, I still think Bigbang is THE one in terms of musical appreciation and innovativeness.
