A VERY Intense Survival Game Where You Only Have 2 MINUTES to Live... 

IGP's voice was close enough to the main character's that I got them confused near the start. Good shit.

*Arms literally about to rot off* "Huh, why can't I use the serum?"

Everyone talking about titles and grammar... This is a video game. Idk what you guys are talking about.

The more serum you pump, the more purple triangle go up - when triangle full then you kinda no feel good, voices speak, and you can no longer inject serum - you must use orange machine to cleanse to fix purple triangle

Not sure if IGP figured this out after the vid but for anyone else confused about his being blocked from taking serums, here's what I remember. The triangle next to his health and stamina fills up every time he takes a serum, you need those stations that purge your infection meter or you'll stay blocked off. There's a bit of time management/serum usage that needs to be kept in mind while out exploring. A slow burn and exploration is the ideal so you can find little stations along the way. At least you don't have the timer counting down while you're in base, that was a minor annoyance but I think it's nice they nixed that.

The game heavily reminds me of "In Time" where all those people had time and time was a currency for living.

Personally, I haven't seen a game this uniquely dark and captivating since Dishonored. Grungy, biomechanical, disease-addled, and you're just thrown into the fray the moment the game starts. Absolutely love it and I'm like 6 minutes in!

Tips (if interested): the main couple of thing i have learned form playing and watching others 1: make sure you know what each weapons damage type is for example the dullers or zombie like infected humans (which ever you wanna call them) very weak to slashing so that's why when stabbing them with the spear it dose almost nothing if that happens switch weapons and hit them with something else try to figure out what dose the most damage against each enemy type (similar to what a previous comment had mentioned) 2: its very important when taking on bosses or bigger monsters to be very prepared a good way of preparing is making some serums that don't increase your time but just increase your defense like the one you noticed in the video there slashing defense increase (most enemy's early on use this damage type that's why you get it early) the reason why making some serums not increase your time is because its a balancing act with the infection level if you hit 100 in it you can no longer take serums (as you found out and others have mentioned) an example of what I am talking about is i have made a serum that increases defense and health to make me last longer I never used it until fighting the boss which was very helpful also while fighting it the pain killers are best used at this time as there health restoration works on a percentage health heal when the slowly tick up is good for long combats like boss match with the health increasing serums 3 try to take the bare minimum amount of serums I had the same problem where i wanted to take all of them at once left base and while out i couldn't freely use any other types as you get blocked out by the infection cap plus you can find those absorbers around the maps some time and if you find it after taking all your serums you could very well waist all your time and any abilities its usually better to wait until you have a minute or 2 left and then take another time increasing one from what i have found to be more or less the best time to plane around without wasting to much serum (apologies that its a bit of a read and that as a view giving you tips you might already be away of or not even asked for)

Game that force youtubers to actually play it, not to stay on single place and talk for hours ? Amazing!

I'm waiting for the reveal that IGP was, in fact, Adam's VA You can't hide it forever Also, it's such a true gamer move to acknowledge the "purple" icon on the serums and not notice that it's filling up the bar on the bottom left and ask "why can't i use the serum"

So, the purple skull icon is the curse effects which need to be cleared using the absorbers, I guess each serum has the positive sides and the negative sides so you have to balance out what to use and when to use it. As for the combat, If I had to assume, different weapons deal different types of damage. Spear is piercing and machete is slashing. That's why it looked like you couldn't deal damage to the dullers or whatever they were called.

Oh, please turn this into a series. I wanna play the game myself, but watching you play is just as good. Amazing video!

The Metro games had a similar function! When in metro tunnels the air is safe to breathe but above ground you need a mask and air filters. It makes for quick decision making that can easily lead to wasted time and panick. I love those games and now want to try Serum when it comes out!

You’re skipping over a key function of the game, which is the negative of the serums, that’s why you have to use the absorber, to get rid of the negative, and it will get rid of the positive also. The best thing is to get up to 15 minutes with the regular serum, use the absorber, and save the good serums for when you are out exploring.

Holy Shite! This has to be one of the most interesting concepts for a survival game with some mind blowingly unique mechanics that when all said and done makes for an amazing experience! Great video man! 😊

lol, love how IGP didn't realize that purple triangle on his HUD shows how infected he is with the mutagen. the more he takes the serum without using the absorber to reset the mutagen levels the worse things get with the voices and stuff until he can't take serum anymore because the meter is full.

I love that the music in the base has a clock ticking in the background when you use the reset thingy, and that it’s in 60 or 120 bpm since that’s the same speed as a clock ticking

honestly this game gives me lots of vibes of the Metro game series !! resource AND time management, coupled with the difficult combat style where u get punished for not really knowing what to do in specific situations, all coupled with the general theme of the world just makes me wanna try and save the world as Artyom again from within subway tunnels

The icon next to your health and stamina is the indicator for how much serum you have used, once it's fully filled you can't use anymore serum till it's empty or you use the cleanser.

The triangle in the lower left fills with purple whenever you inject a serum. I bet that's the purple stat on serums you were confused about. Every serum recipe has a tradeoff between the effect it gives and how toxic it is. When you max out the toxicity, you can't inject any more. So if you want to stay out the longest, you should take only the effects you need. So like one serum for surviving the fog, and maybe a health regenerating serum, and then put the rest into the high time limit serums.

I just now realized IGP does voice over after gameplay. Maybe. Unless he just speeds the footage during the puzzles and keeps audio the same. Either way Interesting technique

In case you never figure it out the skull icon in the lower left that fills with purple shows how much serum you can still use earlier you saw a skull icon next to the serum that shows how much of the bar it fills if you dont have enough of the bar empty you cant use a serum an absorber as it said earlier in the game removes negative and positive effects basically resetting you and the more abilities and stats on your serum the more it fills that bar
