Happy Friday! I can’t wait to read Katie’s book. I may start it as soon as I finish Sense and Sensibility. It seems like a perfect accompaniment to Jane Austen July!
Are you going to get a new copy? Or did you decide to do some repair on your own? I wish I could start it right now ... ah, well. I may try to read both her books later this year. Happy reading, dear friend! 💛
I can’t wait to get Katie’s book in the mail! And Lolly Willows is on my list, too, though who knows when I will get to it… I can’t wait to hear what you think.
Hey Kelly 😊 That copy of Lolly Willows is so pretty. But not quite as lovely as Katie’s new book. I can’t wait to get my copy. I’m definitely going to read that this year. I really loved her first one. Hope you have a lovely weekend with lots of tea and reading.
Dear Loretta, thank you for watching and commenting! I need to read both books this year. It's ridiculous that I haven't. Her new book is absolutely gorgeous! Happy reading this weekend! 💛
How nice that you pre-ordered Katie's book! I'm sure it's great and I can't wait to get a copy and read it. I hope you enjoy Lolly Willowes. It was a bit different than I expected before I read it, so I am interested to see what you think.
Congratulations on your special book arrival. My wife and I have a British author we follow and most of his books have come from UK so I understand your excitement. Our UK author is Alan Titchmarsh.
I don't have the book. I hadn't heard of it until you talked about it. I do have the eBook version of The Secrets of Hartwood Hall. I have yet to read ti
@@stuartgriffin1001 Hello Stuart! Happy Friday! Very cool that you have the ebook of Katie’s first book. I’d love to hear what you think of it. I hope to get to both later this year. 💛
Happy Friday! I got my copy of Montgomery Hurst earlier this week and just finished it yesterday. I loved it! It was perfect for Jane Austen July with balls, suitors, and family drama.
I think my Dad is doing better - thank you so much for asking, Betsy! I really pushed myself through this video ... a lot was cut out. The headache is gone for now though, so that's good! I hope you have a great weekend! 💛
I'm based in Singapore and am almost dying to wait for my local bookstore to bring in Katie's new book!! Meanwhile I'll do with watching unboxings of The Trouble With Mrs Montgomery Hurst, thanks! 😄
@@janetay8798 is your bookstore going to sell it? That’s so exciting! Amazing to think about Katie’s book spreading so far around the globe. I have enjoyed other people showing off their copies of it. Thanks for sharing with me! 💛
Tam, I appreciate you telling me this, but unfortunately I can't this time. If I mention another book I'm going to read (aside from Uncle Silas) that you'd like to read, let me know. Are you on Voxer? 💛
I love Blackwells. I buy from them all the time. I am going to buy Katie 's new book but I want to finish the first one before I do. Jane Austen July delayed my finishing it.
Hello and welcome! I'm so glad you're "here." The headache is gone for the time being. Thank you so much for your kind words about my channel. That really means a lot to me! 💛
thankyou for mentioning me .i am patricia from west london.loved your updike rant.first video i saw.i am a big fan of the rabbit books from back in the 1970s.rereading them as i am housebound for a bit with foot surgery. can understand the rant but loved it anyway.all the best pat.
@@PatriciaTowill Patricia, welcome! I am so happy you are here! I can’t believe my rant about John Updike would lead to this exchange, but it was definitely worth it. Very surprised that a Brit would enjoy the Rabbit books - they feel so American to me - but that’s the beauty of literature, right? I wish you a speedy recovery from your foot surgery and hope we will have more exchanges like this in the future! 💛
I wonder how they choose which books to publish books here in the US written by authors from other countries? I have felt that same excitement over books only published somewhere else. Thank goodness for Blackwell's. I hope you enjoy your purchases as much as others seem to be enjoying it! Way to support lesser known writers too!
@@marciajohansson769 My understanding was that Katie got a two-book contract from her UK publisher, but only a one-book deal from the American publisher. Maybe if enough people on social media talk about it, they’ll change their minds or at least publish it in paperback. It’s so beautiful! Lovely to hear from you Marcia! 💛
Hi! I just came across your channel. Thanks to the algorithm! Glad to be one of your 2.66k family. Congratulations! Sending you love and best wishes from India. 🤍💐🙏🏽
@@booksimnotreading Thanks for asking! I love middle-grade fantasy, and non-fiction: self-help, history and any book I could gain knowledge from. I totally avoid romance and violence. Could you please suggest me a fantasy without romance and extreme violence? It's really hard to find with these tags. Thanks in advance! 🙂🤍👍🏽
@@rojaachar I just finished reading a fantasy series called The Chronicles of Prydain by Lloyd Alexander. It was a reread, and I didn’t love them as much as I remembered, but that doesn’t mean no one would enjoy them. There is a tiny bit of romance and some violence, but not gory or gratuitous. And they were inspired by Welsh folklore. Have you read them?
@@booksimnotreading I haven't heard of this book. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll check it out. If you come across some more fantasies w/o romance and violence please do recommend. Thank You! 😊🤍
