In Portal 2, an alternate dimension Cave Johnson bought out Black Mesa and cancelled the Resonance Cascade project, thus preventing the entirety of Half Life from happening.

If how poorly it aged in certain places is really a huge issue for some people, there’s a fanmade version called black mesa which updated the graphics and stuff. It’s my headcanon version of the game it looks amazing It completely redesigned the boarder world map it looks really fucking cool

I got into Portal rather than Half-Life, though I understand they are(n't) connected, so all I knew was Black Mesa, G-Man, crabheads, combine, and Gordon Freeman, like all great video game protagonists, can't talk lol but it's intriguing watching this and seeing the world and wanting to explore Also being stuck in a revolving door in a sealed chamber underground is absolutely terrifying, even in-game
