Alan, thank-you. This is why Revival is the best. You see the difference between motorcycles in terms of manufacturing and you share the insight. The attitude that we have for each other results in understanding how a bike fits a person rather than just bashing the other types of manufacturing and the respective riders. Something I never thought I would take seriously in motorcycling is leather work that puts style before practicality. Just an example of how my mind is changing. Thanks guys, seriously.

@@rickmancr We stand corrected....you are TOTALLY right. There are in fact 3 different versions and of COURSE that makes more sense as a naming convention. Pre-Monobloc (these carbs), Monobloc and concentrics. thanks for the heads up.....but you know, looking dumb and learning things in the process is ALSO what it's all about. Thanks Rick!
We have non-ethanol fuel everywhere here in Idaho. I don't use anything else in my bikes, as I've seen the horrors of ethanol in carbs. Sad, but it's just a thing we have to contend with these days.
The jokey start is as entertaining as a Henry Cole motorcycle programme . 5:02 the presenter is referring to selective assembly when all the parts needed for a system are chosen to suit each other especialy when discussing tolerances
How about a small handle pump or something, like those old manual fuel pumps for pumping oil from the "sump" to the tank? Or just drain the engine and put new oil in the tank...
For the 100 octane non ethanol, try your local airport. Still more expensive, but not crazy expensive. Also, rather than the obviously inherently dangerous anti-wet sumping valve, why not change out the oil pump where it's leaking by? Great video.

Agreed on using non-ethanol fuel in an old vehicle. But using 100 octane is not really a good idea. The bike was made with 6.8:1 compression to cope with UK post-WW2 'pool petrol' which was 74 octane. Higher octane slows combustion. The bike may have higher compression pistons, say 8:1, so a good quality no-ethanol fuel of around 90 octane will be quite high enough
@@RevivalCycles 0:12 Where is the fuel tank on that weird and waaaay too empty motocycle with the handlebars turned down ? Also,it looks very weird,especially without clocks for speed and turation,mirrors,starter button etc. Plus,i bet it's very weird,counter intuitive and a hassle to ride,as the hands keep sleeping .
