Felt great being able to make it to Pasteur's pharmacy when I was in NYC. Such an amazing place for with a truly outstanding choice of wet shaving gear.
I can only dream of being in a shop like that. Choices and selection like I've never seen. Fantastic. Thanks for the video. I'll add that to my places to visit while in NY.
Well worth the wait! I hope you brought along a second suit case for all the gear buys to take back home. You made your pilgrimage to the shaving mecca. I imagine Kevy's happy.
@@kevyshaves4109 just got back after buying 4 soaps, 6 after shaves, and a dozen different razor blades... It took discipline not to buy multiples of that but I'll go back in a few weeks when i know what I'm doing. Thanks for the video
I’m in NYC, Kevy. Visited Pasteur’s because of this video. Great experience. Got some new blades, a razorock American Barber set, and a Sterling Executive man. Great haul and great time. Thanks for the inspiration!
Kevy you’ve been holding out on me, I’m just a train ride away from Pasteur and never knew it existed! My god I’m in so much trouble now, I’ll be visiting soon:)
Great! I'm visiting NYC in April this year and plan to visit Pstuer's when I'm there. I think there's a few other wet shavers coming along too. Might catch you there. Kevy :)
Hey Kevy, just wanted to give a shout out of thanks for all the videos and information you share. You are a fun-loving guy with a passion for shaving and it shows. All the best!
Kev, your next vid can be of everything you bought this day! (It may take several vids). If that store was near my neighborhood, I'd be broke $$$. Nice vid, thank you.
I wish I'd been there but I'd already scheduled the flights and hotels etc. Only missed it by a few weeks but hopefully one day I'll make it there and meet all of the NY shavers there. Cheers. Kevy 😀
Oh my goodness kevy. Oh my goodness. I could damn near cry man. I am from a place that doesn't often carry these things. I feel so lost in the world right now.
Did you go to the half priced tickets booth on Broadway and see a few plays while you were in town? I'm not sure you checked the Zagat's guide for top restaurants, but if you did, how did you like some of those price$$$$?! Did you get a chance to leave the borough of Manhattan for any of the other boroughs of NYC (Brooklyn,, Queens, Staten Island or the Bronx)? Unfortunately, visits from tourists are too short, so they can't experience the real flavor of all the different neighborhoods and cultures. Did you go to the Metropolitan Museum of Art? Museum of Natural History? Lincoln Center?
Didn't really have time to catch a show on Broadway as we were only in town for 3 days. Managed to fit some great stuff in. Went to the MET - awesome, went on a cycle tour of Central park which was great fun. We also took a tour of the Rockefeller centre which was very interesting and we done an eating tour around Greenwich village which was awesome trying out lots of different food there. We've done all the touristy stuff before including a walk over the Brooklyn bridge and then a little walk around Brooklyn, very nice. There's never enough time to do all the things you want. Cheers. Kevy :)
Thanks for showing us this. I just got into wet shaving about a month ago. Picked up cells as my first creme I love it but I want to try some more soaps and creams. I live in Massachusetts about 4 hours from NYC. This place definitely looks like it would be a good stop on a day trip.
Hey Richard. Great to know you're into wet shaving. It's the way to do it! Yes, Pasteurs would be a great place for you to visit. The choice of shaving related things there is outstanding and the good thing is you can smell the soaps before deciding which ones you prefer. Good luck and thanks for the comment. Cheers. Kevy :)
Nice to see you made it to Pastures Kevy! On my bucket list for sure, Can't wait to see the Vid on your haul from Pastures! Cheers Robert PS. I just checked Google maps, it would only take me 8 hours 24 minutes to drive there ! lol
Nice tour Kevy. Welcome to the u.s.a I guess you were like a kid in a candy store eh? Hope you didn`t spend your life savings. lol If you ever get to Omaha Nebraska, look me up, the coffee is on me. (Big spender that I am.) Have fiun.
Thanks Brian. I didn't spend too much although Mrs. Kevy might disagree! If I ever make it to Omaha, I'll take you up on the offer but I'll have tea instead of coffee!! I'll buy the cookies! Cheers. Kevy
Nice video but, the camera is moving way too fast. I really wanted to get a better view of the products. Wondering if this store still remains open anymore with all the chaos and violence.
Hi Andy. I think there are a couple of shops. There's one in Leeds where Paul H had a meet up earlier this year - bit.ly/2EA2L3B I'm not sure if there are any others outside of the ones join London. They are well with a visit. Cheers. Kevy :)
Thanks for the reply Kevy. I think I might go up to Leeds and max the credit card on shave gear hahah. I'm from Nottinghamshire. So not to far. Best wishes. Andy.
Ha ha! Not sure if that would survive here. In saying that though, The Gentleman's Groom Room here in Dundee sells excellent shaving stuff and has been there for over 10 years and is still going strong. Great little shop. www.thegentlemansgroomroom.com Cheers. Kevy :)
You should have mentioned when you were in NYC by sending out an email or a quick video message! I hope you bought a load of aftershaves to take home. You should have bought a few Ogallala soaps and aftershaves (preferably the double strength versions). As I've previously mentioned, you should have pre-ordered in Scotland from a number of US sites for delivery to your hotel in NYC if you were there for a decent length of time. I'm currently watching your video in 1/4 time to catch the prices on the products and see if there's any bargains to be had.
I did buy some aftershaves but the choice really is too much, not that that's a bad thing! I could've bought lots more than I did but I didn't want to go too mad! Lol! The prices are reasonable with online stores. And there were some red tagged items that had 30% off the listed price. I did buy so,e stuff too and got it sent to my hotel in Florida. I'll post a video this week showing the US shaving haul. Cheers. Kevy 😀
Kevy, did you shave enough money to get back home ...ha. Thanks for sharing the Video I always look forward to watching . I'm sure you picked up some great stuff to show and tell.
Insane selection. How did you ever choose what to buy? Surely can't be anywhere to match that place. How were the prices? I'm betting there were some bargains to be had.
And that is a problem... even when you already know what you want... as soon as you see the entire shelf selections... you change your mind and confusion enters immediately... Is really a great place to spend your money...
It must be a SURREAL experience to actually physically be present in a location that you may have seen dozens of times on video. 2nd thought: gluttonous excess but still fun...
I had a list of things I'd thought I wanted to buy before going there but once you see all the things in there, it just blows your mind and you forget what you want!! It's a great place. 👍
Fab, I like these independents! Closest I've been to N.Y.C. is Buffalo. Next trip I must go! Only I'm more interested in Europe at present, with the exception of IE/GB there's a melting pot of culture and beauty there, which I haven't seen yet in North America, though I've a family trip coming up to Vancouver when our 5 year old is older and wiser, whichever comes first!
Glenn, you must visit Pasteur's the next time you visit NYC. It's a wet shaver's paradise! Lol! Enjoy Vancouver. I've never been to Canada. Cheers. Kevy :)
It's an amazing place for wet shavers as well as being quite good for those who need something for back ache...lol! I'm sure your daughter will do her Daddy proud with a trip to Pasteur's. Let us know what you get if you do persuade her to go. Cheers. Kevy 👍
My cousin lives around the corner, & I live in Canada. I want him to bring a bunch of stuff I'm looking for home on the American thanksgiving. But when I tried to call, they weren't very helpful. So I'll ask you this extremely annoying question lol Do they carry: -Saponificino Varesino? -panna crema? -Martin de candre? -barrister & Mann? -calani? -gingers garden? Off the top of your head, do you remember if any of these stood out?
Hi Mark. I think they carried all of those except for the Martin de Candre but I could be wrong! I don't remember seeing ADP but again, I could be wrong - sorry! There really is so much soaps and shaving gear in that store that it takes a while to try and search through everything. I could only stay there for a while as I had a flight to catch. Next time I go, I'll be spending much longer so I can search and look at everything in more detail. Hope you get what you want. Cheers. Kevy
Do they have a website? My wife would kill me if I went to that store. Crazy part is I haul loads near nyc. Might have to make a special trip and get paid to do it hahahaha
Did you buy anything Kevy? I bet you did, don't tell me you just looked about, lol. Did they sell any Palmolive sticks in that shop Kevy? Because I'm interested to know how much Palmolive sticks are in the US means they are only 49p here in the UK.
I did buy some stuff Steven. I'll post a video, this week sometime showing you. I didn't see any Palmolive sticks but there's so much stuff, they might well have some. I should've took some over to sell! Could've made a tidy profit! Lol! Cheers. Kevy 😀
Wow, looks like a wet shaver's heaven. So the plane was able to take off despite the extra weight? HaHa just kidding. With the British Pound to American Dollar conversion, you must have made off like a bandit. I hope to make it there some day.
dryocum Apologies, it was a bit shaky, it's very narrow between those passageways and also, I was kinda trying to do things quickly as I had a flight to catch. Next time I'm there, I'll try to do a better video. Cheers. Kevy 😀
