A Visit to Richland Mall (TX) 

Killeen is hell, It’s a military town. If the army left it would parish. Atleast in Waco it’s a college town with some decent outdoor activities. Decent place to raise a family with events happening all the time.

Growing up, there used to be a restaurant called Picadilly. Every Friday night we would go there to eat family dinner. We would get home just in time to watch the intro to Miami Vice.

No photos, but from what I remember (circa 90' - 00's) some stores closed or moved onto different areas That closed store at 1:15 use to be Tilts arcade, 1:27 Vanessa Kasa use to be the gamestore Special fx, 1:45 where chimes is at there used to be a KB store there, Between 2:30 - 2:45 on the right there was a Radio shack there, 3:45 the big closed off white section was once a Jewelry store , 5:03 where Dick's is at there use to be a small ice cream that me and my siblings would always get ice cream when we went there. The earliest memory I have of this place was when I was in kindergarten the school took us to see Santa I remember asking him for the Jurassic Park jungle explorer toy.

I went to college in Waco in 1985-1986. I frequented Chelsea's Street Pub quite often in that mall. From your video it looks like that pub us long gone.

It's definitely quite sterile, as you mention. It's strange to me how fountains and plants (as well as wooden accents and features) can be viewed as dated. I guess I'm fine with dated. I also like there to be some character to a place. Great video.

For this video I ate some paprika flavoured rice with marinated onions and a sandwich with mayo, tomatoes, orange bell peppers and smoked cheddar cheese. I also had a glass of lemon water as well.🍚🧂🧅🥪🍅🫑🧀🥤🍋

If a mall has a chik fil a its going to be ok..thats what I was told by a mall manager back in the 90s.

This is my childhood mall. I visited this mall starting in like 1994. It’s gone down hill, lots of stores have moved out to the Central Texas Marketplace about 5 miles down the road. The mall had your typical 90’s esthetics until 2015. The Sears lasted longer than your typical Sears did. I don’t visit this mall that often anymore because of the selection of stores left. The Dick’s was a mixture of Forever 21, an old Piccadilly restaurant, and other small mom and pop tenants.

It is a little bland but it’s better than “The Florida Mall” in Orlando. That whole mall is a white slate, it’s claim to fame is that all the tourists go there and somehow it continues to sustain a fully functional Sears.

2nd. Dillards couldn't change the Sears front when they moved in?

not a bad mall. i really liked the wall design above the anime marketplace & lids it goes well with the ceiling. but i agree its too much white. with the high ceilings some paint & different color track lighting or neon light would be nice.

A great explore but a couple of suggestions, sir. At the beginning when driving through the parking lot, please slow down so we can see the exterior stores you were passing. I had to constantly pause your video to accomplish this. Also, when walked through the mall, please turn your camera right and left so we can more fully see the stores you are passing. Please remember, we are not seeing the same things you are at eye level. Thank you for this video.

Yea you're right about the Richland name for malls, we have one in Ontario Ohio close to Mansfield just off I 71S and US 30 W. Great informative and entertaining video as usual and Keep em Rolling!

I like the outside of this mall. I don't like the interior, but I won't lie I like the stores in this mall so for that reason alone I think I would shop here. On another note, for years I always thought it was pronounced Wacko, Texas. LOL!🤣😂 I know now for quite some time that it's pronounced Wayco even though it's spelled Waco.😊I guess my mom is right in minor ways. When it comes to spelling and pronouncing, English can be a very complicated language sometimes.📃✏🗣

We go to Waco at least once a year to get out of Houston. Waco is an underrated city that has a lot going for it. They have the hills of the hill country, nice lakes, nice parks, a central river, museums including the Dr.Pepper museum, the Alico building, the downtown restaurant and bar scene, and Richland Mall. Don't forget Baylor College is doing fantastic these days. Waco has an old-school Austin like vibe before Californians took over that city. Hopefully that doesn't happen in Waco!

A nice busy mall, but a tad too many kiosks, Too many kiosks make it look like a flea market. I like the neutral white color, no complaints here.
