Amazing place in the wilderness, nice trek route. Nice to see Elephants enjoying the water. Overall a very nice place except that it sad to see them chained and they struggle to walk. Am sure the morning deer call U heard would have been for the same leopard mark you saw on the trek it was so fresh! Thanks for sharing another lovely place and lovely video! Cheers Shreyas! ❤

Thanks 🙂 yes, there was some carnivore movement close by. And the elephants are fed, bathed and by 2pm left back into the forest, where they spend time in the jungle till next morning. So compared to some elephants living their whole life in chains, these elephants are doing good.

Hi appreciate all your videos love the narration can go less on music I feel. That said I need your advice travelling from Blr to Nagarhole and Wayanad region from 23-30 July with son 4 years old and wife. Can you shine some light on what to expect this monsoon season time, which place you recommend with JLR to stay Kabini or nagarhole or any other places to visit keeping monsoon in mind and toddler. Thanks and god speed

Thanks 🙂 regarding travel, it's raining everywhere heavily, so think about it since you are planning with a young one. Wildlife sightings will be less mostly during the rains. Both kabini and Bandipur jlr campus is quite good and comfortable for families.

Hello Shreyas, following you videos. Very nice explanation of the places. I have couple of questions. Do JLR charge for kids below 5 yrs ? Also I saw the tent houses are little small for family of 4 do they provide extra bed or did you carry any ?
@Shreyas.Ranganath
@Shreyas.Ranganath 2 года назад
No charge for less than 5yr olds, and yes they provide extra bed.

What is the fun in seeing elephants all chained up like sweatshop elephants? These places are terrible tourist spots and people need to avoid visiting and supporting these places. I’ve seen videos of you visiting elephants in the wild roaming free and that’s how it’s supposed to be. Elephants in chains are an eyesore and people need to stop patronizing or supporting these places and this applies to temple elephants as well. Elephants are majestic animals that deserve to roam free in the wild. Having visited several national parks in Southern and Eastern Africa as well as India and Sri Lanka, I refuse to support any activities that keep elephants in captivity and all chained up. It’s an abomination and an eyesore and people should stop supporting these places.

In that sense, no animals should ever be kept in confines, not just an elephant, it applies to all animals domesticated by humans. Referring to these elephants, they are left into the jungle daily by around 3pm , where they spend time in their natural habitat mingling with wild elephants, and they are brought to camp for feeding and bathing daily in the morning for a few hours. They are needed to carry out certain specific operations which only a trained elephant can do for now, and they are using them for those purposes.
