A&W is the best root beer. I love eating Root Beer Floats. The ice cream forms little crunchy crystals on it. When I made a Coke float it didn't form those ice crystals & wasn't as delicious
I hope your boys turn around and spend a lot more time with you soon. I wish my dad gave me the time of day to even plan for little things. He's got a family of his own now and my mom has a family of her own too. I genuinely wish the best for you and your boys in the future because not every kid gets a chance to have a father like you.
I started crying when you said “Anything with the boys doesn’t work out” Like dont just sit there and say no spend time with your dad, This video is so sweet
made me tear up mate, growing up without a father I really wish I had someone to be there for me. To see you try so hard and have your kids not reciprocate that hurts, and while I know this is a 3 year old video, I hope you and your family are all well now. Cheers
I never did have a father growing up. Now at the age of nineteen, I wouldn't mind spending whatever time we both have available with you doing simple things such as a root bear float outside. Have a good day, Mr. Aussie.
As weird as it is to say, this video really helped me reflect on my relationship with my dad. I really don’t talk to him a lot, and I really need to start doing that more
this made me realize that i should appreciate my dad and step mom and to cherish the moments i have with them and to spend as much time as i can with them. great video you are a great dad ❤️
I live in the U.S. and was recently trying to figure what the best root beer brand and ice cream brand were to make a good root beer float. Too often I keep getting bad combos. From other videos, etc. it turned out there was quite a difference in results in taste tests depending on which brand of root beer and vanilla ice cream were used. A&W is the clear winner of root beer brand to use. Other root beers (e.g. Mug, Barq's) did not produce as good of results. In fact, some combos actually produced rather bad results. As for the vanilla ice cream, it needs to be a creamy one. Blue Bunny vanilla ice cream was the winner in one taste test. Your Blue Ribbon brand was a very good match and "looks" right too. So, you really hit the nail on the head with your choices in making your video. As for other recommendations... get a long handle spoon (as you found out, straws are useless). I also like to stir it all up and then just spoon it out (getting the ratio of root beer and vanilla ice cream can take some finagling to get it "just right" but when you do, it's heaven!). And if you go to an actual A&W restaurant, they chill their mugs in a freezer. So, whether you get straight A&W root beer or make a float, having a chilled mug really adds to the experience. Also, it is recommended to tilt the glass/mug and pour the root beer down the side instead of directly on the ice cream. Idea there is to help it not froth up as quickly. I believe a chilled mug/glass might help reduce the fizz-up too. A&W mugs have a good thickness to the glass, which likely helps it not to be as susceptible to thermal shock/shattering. So, if you do chill a glass/mug, always good to make sure the actual glass is pretty thick. It might be worth your time to try some other vanilla ice cream brands to see if you can find an even better one than your Blue Ribbon... but I'd stick with A&W for the root beer. Other root beer brands can be great for drinking straight but that doesn't mean they'll be great for making root beer floats. Anyway, I'm just happy you found a winning combo right off the bat. Cheers, mate!
Saw a clip of this off instagram I end up watching movies with my dad most times he suggests it I'm glad I do I hope your boys have more time in the future foe you as well That's the beauty of family I am happy knowing there are other people out there that know the value of it
hey man! just came from a TikTok. you seem like a very chill and nice dude. i would definitely recommend trying a Shirley temple if you haven’t already. I don’t know if you have them in Australia. if you don’t, definitely give it a go. poor a glass of sprite and add grenadine in it. it’s very tasty and sweet.
Hey sir I’m sure you’re tired with the remarks about it but what you said at 2:20 brought me to tears and more than one occasion. I live ~4200km from my dad and try to spend as much time as I can with him. I hope your kids have changed to do the same with you. Best of luck and God bless
Me and my dad are close but we do have our arguments here and there, this video makes me want to spend as much time as possible with him. I just turned 18 and he's 57 I love my dad to death and will appreciate every day i have with him
Man. "Anything I try to do with the boys never works out." That hit hard. Had me tearing up nearly. I can't imagine the day that comes when me and the boys aren't together anymore. It would suck because we've been friends our whole life. Sucks when this happens and it comes to you that you are no longer young.
I love your content so much please keep uploading and never keep your head down! Even if things get hard all 25k people that you inspire will always be here for you we love you 💕 Never give up!
5:28 Indeed, it is sarsaparilla. Started like many American soda drinks as a sort of medicinal soda sold by some guy. He called it "root beer" (as it was fermented), and sold it to miners in Pennsylvania. Enjoyable vid, fella! Cheers!
On June 20, 1919, Roy W. Allen opened his first root beer stand in Lodi, California. Four years later, A&W began when Allen and Frank Wright opened their drive-in restaurant in Sacramento, California, combining both of their initials for the name, and selling the root beer from Allen's stand.
hey !! i usually don’t comment but this really made me sad. my dad doesn’t do stuff with me so it made me sad to see this. thank you for being amazing and your sons are extremely lucky to have you.
I remember when I was in elementary school for a treat my math teacher gave the good behaving students with good grades a cup of icecream with rootbeer it was my first time trying it a little memory from elementary school.
ive been sitting here for the past minute just sobbing because i feel so bad and i hope theres more people that'll have root beer floats w u im probably being ridiculous rn this just hurts so bad
Great video❤️😍❤️ Root beer isn’t my fav but thanks for helping me think of the idea for an orange soda ice cream float! I love orange creamsicles so an orange and vanilla float would be awesome for me!
I'm sorry to hear not everything with the boys works out yes it was 3 years ago but quality time is something amazing to have and you should always have it just no maybe the boys didn't come but we will
I grew up about 75 miles from the original A&W, located in Lodi, CA. Their restaurants USED to be good and a lot of fun with the drive-up and the carhops. It's horrible now. But their root beer is still good. For a really good float, get A&W in a glass bottle (if available) and use some really good premium vanilla ice cream....not the cheap stuff.
Woah that looks delicious! I really hope I could be there and have some with you and then they’ll only be one cup left! Or maybe zero because I might want to drink it all ❤️ your an absolutely amazing dad and I hope your sons can do this with you some time.
You deserve better friends! Wack of em not to do this, I’m gonna make one rn at home with great value Homestyle vanilla ice cream. Blue ribbon is the best over here in the US!
Good video, we make root beer floats a couple times a month for a treat. I've got a couple mugs that we just leave in the freezer until we're ready to make the floats. We've tried other root beer's but A&W is still the best to use...at least for us.
I just wanted you to know I went through your entire Tik tok looking for this video, only to have to go through your RU-vid to find it! Great stuff mate
I used to work at a dairy bar and they had us tilt the cup slightly sideways after putting the icecream in and pour the soda in at an angle, on the inner side of the cup. I think they had us do this because it forms a lot of crystals on the icecream. Either way, yours looks delicious.
Wow! This video came up on my feeds and it said 3 weeks ago. Anyhoo I love a good A&W root beer zero sugar with heavy cream. And a little cool whip on top. Delicious!!!
watched this while eating a root beer float, I live in America and they were sold out of A&W so I got Barq's instead. Really wish I could have an A&W root beer float
