Gorgeous town! I haven’t been to Samara since 1996. Amazing how many restaurants and super markets there are now. From your videos I can tell there are some good eats!

The sign and park and pier is new since I was there last. Wonderful beach town. The food everywhere is phenomenal. Boutique hotels are perfect. I loved Samara and miss it. I’ll travel there again.

Hey y’all! Love Samara. Thanks for all your info and videos - been a follower for a while. I haven’t been back to Samara since 2006. Fell in love and never forgot it. My husband and I are entertaining the idea of getting down there as we crave the ocean and lifestyle change (He is from Chile (soon to be US citizen) and I am from the US). Do you think you will do a video on how to go about real estate - buying a property and rates for building if buying land vs. existing place? Or a website you recommend for scoping that out to understand the market. We too would need to sell our home or at least rent it out in the beginning and then sell. Also, a video on if it is difficult to get a perm res visa? We also have 3 cats and a dog (yikes) no kids yet. Or any helpful links if you’ve got em. Thanks!! ❤

@Erica Hurley we mentioned in the videos that we are not lawyers by profession and that lawyer questions need to be handled by lawyers here and that we would provide others with the referral if needed. If this is of serious interest to you and you need to speak to a lawyer in CR then let us know and we can pass along a great contact for that. All CR residency information can also be found online via Google.

Hi! Thanks so much for this awesome video :). Q for you: we've seen some reviews that talk about there being a lot of dog and horse poop on the beach in Samara, and that there's sometimes a prevalent sewage smell--can you speak to any of that? Thank you!

Those are old then, they've cracked down on the horse issue and no it doesn't smell like sewage.

Hi there I had a quick question, can have been watching your videos and think they are awesome. My wife and I are taking my three boys ages 5,7,9 down in late November to December for a month. We are trying to decide between Santa Teresa l, Samara, and Punta Islita. We are wanted nice beaches that arnt very busy and are searching for that chill “hippie” vibe. My wife annd I went last year to Santa Teresa for a couple days annd really enjoyed it ant the time. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for watching, if you have a car then split your time between Santa Teresa and Samara. If you won't have or don't want a car then Samara is better, it's easier to get around. Punta Islita is very isolated and not much to do for kids so that shouldn't be an option (we have videos on that are), Samara would be best for kids, the ocean is the safest out of all of Costa Rica ( you still have to respect it though) The Nosara area would be an option to but again you would need a car or at least a golf cart. Nosara is on the pricier side, we have videos from there as well. We do offer our email consultation service if you are interested.

I have never had worse sashimi than I had in that food court...it was absolutely horrible, and overpriced. I can't remember the name of the place- maybe pelicanos or something...but it was just such a letdown. Do you guys have a favorite sushi/sashimi place there?

We did eat at a little place called "Pearl" (i think?) and it was amazing though. It was toward playa buena vista if I recall correctly. It made up for the other place.

That's strange because Mr pelicano is the best for seafood, we did a video there and the sashimi was good. Must have had an off day. Our favourite sushi is Samarai Sushi
