Grandview is a small Texas town along interstate highway 35 W, with a population approaching 2,000 people. It's located about two hours north of Austin and about thirty minute south of Fort Worth. It began with a land grant in 1850 with supplies sent up from Houston and a general store. The town center moved a mile away when the railroad came through in the late 1800's. It got it's name because John Whitmire said "what a Grand View" when he was hanging out there. The town has a small community vibe and the celebrate antiques with their yearly Antique Alley event spanning from Grandview to Cleburne, Texas. Criner Street is the main strip with Tex-Mex, Pizza and Donuts along the way, with a bank and a community center. The firefly hall and stage is a place where you can find live music sometimes. After a quick walk around and a search for Tex-Mex (closed) I made it back on the highway to Fort Worth. Good times.
