It looks amazing regardless of how it was done. Ppl seem to be knocking the achievement because of “camera tricks” and intentional low resolution, but they really did incredible work here. Always seemed to me that limitations forced more creative techniques. That’s why some of the top tier practical effects as far back as the 70’s and 80’s look better than most if not all of the cgi of the 90’s and 00’s. Personally I think it works out for the best when a project uses whatever the best mixture of cgi, green screen, practical and camera/Editing skills to get the results they need by focusing on the end game instead of committing to one or another technology.

@@bkjeong4302 Croc's jaws are for big prey. I already mentioned gavial who goes for fish for real and his muzzle is totally different. Usual croc IS able to eat some fish but this far from being his main food. If it was then we would simply have second and third gavial.

@EoceneRoxton True, but there is one type of squid, Lolliguncula brevis, that can tolerate low salinity and often inhabits river mouths. It is possible that squids (or octopi or cuttlefish) could evolve to tolerate freshwater environments over time, and even if they didn't, a potential land cephalopod would still be able to colonise coastal habitats.

The problem is that I find supporter of evolutionary theory who aggressively campaign for using evolution hypothesis to stop all other possible theories to exist in this human society extremists. I'm an atheist but, I see no reason why the faithful can't accept evolution as the how as opposed to the why. Maybe if there is a god he/she/it could have just set it in motion and let nature do it's thing. Just a thought.
