WOW only just found this. Absolutetly brilliant. I was born in Kings Langley in 1950 and lived there till 1977. In fact there is a picture of me and my Dad in the video. My Mum and Dad owned the watch and jewelry shop at 61 High Street and my Aunty owned the wool shop next door at 59.
ian540 Thanks for your comments, I will pass them on to Keith. There are more films about Kings Langley in this channel which may me of interest. Chris
Thank you so much for posting this. As a long time resident of nearby Chipperfield, I found it absolutely fascinating and Keith is such a good speaker.
Very well done Keith. This is really interesting for a lifelong hemel resident and very profesional too. It would be really great if other people made historical records like this, especially if they have the old film. .
So interesting and very well put together, fantastic memories you have shared. Do you ever remember an address The Dingle, Chipperfield Road, Kings Langley the home of George Frederick Hart (amusement caterer) & Elizabeth Hart and daughter Shirley Hart who was born in or around 1940.
It would be nice to incorporate this knowledge into village blue plaques or alike which the school or just residents could use for history walks. For example, there is the air raid shelter in Rockliffe Park woods which i always thing would be fascinating to mark with a board or alike and bring children down to bring history to life.
I also remember putting pennies on the line which probably lead to the scariest few moments of my life. We had put some pennies down and the next train that came through was The Flying Scotsman in full steam scary.
Great, I timed the message well then! Thanks for thinking of us, we currently have a couple of people we go to for making videos, but will consider you if we're ever stuck for someone. Best wishes from Frogmore Mill
@Roolooth99 I hope you are wrong about the fields but probably not. I have only lived here for 26 years and I can't go down to the High Street without meeting someone I know, the sense of community hangs on - so far.
