Looks like excellent training for the Moab! What a great trip. Really digging these more spaced out training diaries and really fills the spot for me compared with the diaries of last year.
@@JeffPelletier that’s great to hear! I recall these more spaced out updates being in my comment wishlist when you asked what our thoughts were at the end of last years for that exact reason. Much more realistic/sustainable.
Your buddy is off by quite a bit! Humphreys peak is 12,633ft. Cool to see you in my home state! I live in Phoenix, grew up and went to school in flagstaff. Hike the canyon all the time. Hope you had a great time!
Great to learn about and see that route in the GC, as well as some of Flagstaff. As for 16:47, I haven't forgotten about the promised full Grand Teton video :)
Brilliant look around Flagstaff and Sedona Jeff. Would love to see more at some point if you ever get back. Have been through twice while enroute to other places and definitely had a sense of the possibility. Great vid.
My husband and I did the Rim to River to Rim (South Kaibab to Bright Angel) only about a week and a half before you were there. But our weather was completely different. Started the day at -9 with ice and snow, and only got up to 17 at the bottom of the canyon. At least the cold kept it from being too busy except for at the top of Bright Angel; we were on our own most of the hike.
Terrific video! Such a beautiful area of the world. And thanks for the information on the Grand Canykn. A group of us are planning R2R2R in October. We will keep an eye on the trail situation and look at your alternative if there are closures.
Awesome as always!! Can't wait to hear (and watch on Strava) how you train for the MOAB 240. I can't even wrap my head around how a person trains for that LOL.
Dude! Any chance of getting more longer lengthen training or racing videos around north Vancouver/north coast mountains? Like fun little side trails and obscure destinations?
Was surprised with part about how some creek are radiated. Something to think about when refilling the filtered bottle. Makes me wonder about other creeks too. Is there a place to find out which creeks are ok?
Hi Jeff found your channel about six months ago and really enjoy your films, as someone who is very environmentally conscious I have to ask, do you consider the impact of all flights you take? If you do, what do you do to mitigate it? I haven’t flown since 2019, partly pandemic but now it’s very conscious, not saying I won’t again, I am next year to go to New Zealand.
How do you know the water is radioactive? My husband and I are doing R2R2R October 17 want to make sure our water sources are safe, we are using bright angel Creek as our water source since the a lot of the pipped in water is shut off from a break in the line.
I suspect we may have been in the Canyon the same weekend. Here is the Sunrise you missed a few Ks from the rim heading down the South Kaibib Trail ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-8HWFoaoq59M.html
