In this video the first fix nears completion on the latest project, I get the underfloor heating tested and install some digital showers. I also start work up in the roof on the installation of the cylinders
As always, thanks for all the support, it is greatly appreciated

It's coming on nicely Tom . A lot of pipe work going in . The attic is A bit cramped and hot to work in .then your legs seize Up ..looks a good job with plenty going in 👍👍👍👍

Those plates with the compression nuts are just to support the pipe dropping down from the ceiling. The brass drop passes through it and you just tighten the nut to fix it in place.

Hi Tom, you are now making some excellent progress with that installation, the copper is looking fantastic. I’m sure you were experiencing some high temperatures working in that roof space. Don’t forget to look after yourself, with exhaustion and dehydration you can start making bad decisions. Take care Tom, another excellent film, documenting a fantastic installation. 🍻👍👍👍

Thanks for the support as always Chris, it certainly was a bit hot up in the roof, plenty of water needed. I always think it's easy to work in the cold, at least you can put extra layers on and work harder to get warm

2 triangles of ply either side of the joist with wood same thickness as the joist in-between and you could turn that expansion vessels to vertical might get away with just one peice of thick ply.

Truss not joist I mean

Fair point mate, I always do my best to get them vertical, you see some on there sides which I always think is bad practice, thanks for watching

Very cool work or not 😂you could do with a fan under your working position, it’s a very busy loft with all the equipment in it ,sorry you made me laugh when you put your hands down on your burner head 😂 , its the Olive holes, the pipework under two screws to your board for the shower head , the electrical feed for the digital showers is a a 3 am fuse circuit for to power them up, great vlog there Tom.

Thanks for the support as always mate, I couldn't believe it when I burnt myself, it is easy done when you are working in tight spaces though, thanks for the advise on the power, the electrician has run a circuit round for them and will hopefully connect them all up

Top top job again. I think the brass plate screws to the ceiling plasterboard to hold it and then the chrome cover finishes it pal 👍🏻👍🏻

You could well be right there Stuart, the pipes are fixed and supported so I don't think it will make a huge difference, thanks for the support as always

Looking good mate, im fitting more and more of them mira digi showers recently seems to be a popular choice! I was concerned about the speed fit onto the brass at first too but just followed the instructions and never had a problem 😊

Nice neat install as always Tom, because of the nature of the building does the insulation need to be class o ?, we also got pulled on a job by a consultant saying 13mm doesn’t comply with new building regs?
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Год назад
Thanks for the support as always mate, I did ask the clerk of the works about the lagging and he was happy with clima flex, all the pipes will be closed within 500mm of rock wool insulation so heat loss and transfer will be very minimal. With regards to the building regs as far as I read the minimum wall thickness should be 10mm, obviously they don't make a 10mm wall thickness so 13 is the next one up

How many bathrooms is this Tom, seems a bit overkill having 3 tanks on it?

I think everyone does at some point mate, I find the toughest part can be switching off at night, when you have a few jobs on the go I find you constantly have thoughts and worries running through your head, it can be difficult to manage at times but having good people around really does help, thanks for watching as always 👍

A lot of us are baking in Attics over the last few weeks, but hey it’ll -9°C again very shortly. Working in the heat can be hard, but Winter is torture!! Good content as always mate, these Mira Digital showers look good, I’ve only fitted the Aqualisa ones.
@PlumbLikeTom
@PlumbLikeTom Год назад
Thanks for the support as always mate, I don't think winters around here are quite as bad as you get them in Scotland, the cold can be bad though, the Mira showers look Ok, I haven't paired one to the controller yet so I don't know how difficult that will be, sometimes these things can be a right pain
