Those movable library shelves are so cool! I've never seen that before. Wow, that looks like so much work you did for school and RU-vid. You did an amazing job! Thank you for all your work you do for showing us your week. ❤
Fantastic vlog. I’ve gotta say the biggest revelation was you mentioning that you do your vlogs on a phone. The quality you maintain is extraordinary. It’s a good example that it’s about how you do it, not purely about the equipment. I began watching your vlogs because my older sister Gina followed you and always talked to me about them, and so I started watching for that reason. Gina died in the middle of last year, and I suppose since then I’ve watched the RU-vidrs that she watched to maintain a kind of connection with her. [edited cos I forgot her exuberant message to me a year or so ago]. She messaged to say ‘Makayla is a vegetarian like you’ (been a veggie for about 37 years). I’m in the middle of meeting and I message back ‘whotf is Makayla?’ And she was incensed I didn’t know. I do wish there were more vlogs that talked about university life in relation to actual university rather than a kind of influencer experience of it. And I love that you do that I think it’s really powerful. I’ve been in academic for 33 years and I’m a full professor at Macquarie University in Critical Indigenous Studies, and I genuinely wish that potential university students would watch vlogs like yours. Also just editing this again to say that I’m a bit wrong. Gina followed you after I saw your vlogs a few years ago as a suite of university vlogs I was asked to watch because I was examining a PhD focused on college and influencers. Gina was at my place while I was watching a bunch of these and followed you afterwards, and then I did.
As a cellist I feel you with the tuning pegs. Just a suggestion though--try pushing in as hard as you can while turning instead of before or after. Cello pegs are a lot bigger so idk if it's the same, but for me it's basically impossible to push it in unless it's actively being turned.
So often I'd be dead on my feet in the reg and push two of those window chairs together to take a nap. Harper's the one with the most comfortable seats and the real reputation for napping, but those window chairs make a nice bed.
Fellow (struggling) violinist here. That week I couldn’t keep my violin in tune for more than 10 mins. Some chalk powder may help your pegs’ stability 😉
Oh this makes me feel so much better! I was worried there was something in particular wrong with my violin 😅 and that's such a good idea, I'll have to try it!! Thank you!!
@@MakaylaMacGregor I thought I broke my violin too (it went through an international flight with me 😅) but I had a wise friend suggest that and it solved the problem!!
