i never know how pharmacy and medical students can remember all the information long term, like I literally forget everything I learn in class the week after I learn it lol
Im telling u this now.. unless ur Albert Einstein, YA DONT! The real deal is when you START PRACTICING! Rotations, residency, training ect! You learn HANDS ON WITH EVERYTHING IN LIFE. ESPECIALLY medical/pharmacy/nursing ect. On hand training prepares you and the brain tends to force the memorization part to occur vs “ YOU HAVE AN EXAM MONDAY BE READY”
I'm a newly qualified pharmacist here in the U.K (passed my licensing exam whoop!). I remember we had our infectious disease exam - and totally can relate to all the different/similar antibiotics especially the cephalosporin classes. So, what i did, made a mind-map of it and found common themes and wrote little clues to help remember the names of those antibiotics. In terms, with mechanism of action of antibiotiocs again wrote them all down, + noted few shared the same/similar mechanism whilst others has few differences. Lastly, the dosages, contraindications, side effects etc again just grouped them down. This was all done via mind-maps. Definitely suggest those tips as it really really helped! Now that you've done the exam lol this could help other people! x
Congrats! What a hectic time to start your pharmacy career. It must be super rewarding right now. And thank you for those great tips! I’ll definitely use the mind-map method when I’m reviewing the material again ☺️
@@Armitta Many thanks! i know right! but being busy is better than anything else - hoping to also work in a different country in the near future! ahh great I'm glad, hope it somewhat helps! :)
I’m seriously thinking I’d be happy as a pharmacist or lab tech and looking ahead at a long and daunting process of education. I’ve been a nurse for a number of years, and I’m a lot older than I look. Your videos are helpful for me at this stage of my life during a career change, and undoubtedly for many other students pre, in or post pharmacy school. Please keep uploading them.
Thank you so much for your comment! I’m sure your background in nursing will really put you ahead, especially if you end up working in hospital pharmacy. Best of luck to you ☺️
@@Armitta hello how are u? I'm also happy because I found your channel😍 I have a question for u Which subject did u preper to enter the pharmacy university? I wanna be pharmacist .
@@ezozashoakmalova873 thank you! 🥰 I studied human physiology before pharmacy school so I took courses like physiology, biology, anatomy, biochemistry, etc.
Thanks for the inside look, brings back memories. I graduated Pharmacy school in 1993. We had quizzes and exams every week (was always under the gun). Keep plugging along, and good luck.
As a Medical Laboratory Technician…I feel the pain. I briefly had a pharm course and more power to you! Also I love microbiology and was great seeing some of your notes on certain bacteria
Omg I'm also a pharmacy student in Canada (Qc)! I had infectious disease last semester and let me tell you it was hard! I'm glad I found your channel!!
So glad I found this channel! I hope I can be in the same position as you 🙏🏼 I’m wanting to be a Pharmacy Tech first (just to start out) & get my diploma/certificate in 2022 and then go to UBC for Pharmacy 👍🏼 I’m gonna be 23 soon...and I just want to get a career going 🙏🏼
Omg you're so beautiful! I am from Czech Republic and I want to start studying pharmacy next year and I really love the idea of your RU-vid channel. It makes me more motivated . Thank you ❤️
Hi. Good luck to your coming exams! you may also inspire your viewers, specially like us who could connect with you about student life and or being a pharmacist. I remember my college from the University I had graduated. I oftentimes feel calm yet not relax with a number of books with our different subjects piled through my desk at home while studying.....sometimes I get over my nerve to really calm down soon as the minute came for me to go and take all of my exams within the day. That is the time I started to feel better when I was reading already my test papers with my pen on my bright hand and a lot of answers popped up into my mind again because I studied exactly with enough time. Setting aside some of my other hobbies to do instead, with my efforts and prayers, I passed my exams thanked God. I did balance my time for study and another time for my work in the pharmacy and mom said to me "you can continue to study even you stop working here in the pharmacy, your dad & me will continue spend for your college tuition fees, always focus your studies". I replied to my mom saying, "i can better focus my studies mom with having my own part time work experience on week ends and studying also on school days. It's a part time job experience only I had with my friend at the pharmacy on 1 summer after my freshman or first year in college. And I am so gratrful and thankful to my parents support and also to my friend for our enthusiastic encouragement together with our work together in the pharmacy. 🏪🙂 have a great day also!
You may not see this but, my daughter enters Pharmacy school this fall. She needs a new computer or laptop. She's leaning towards an iPad Air but we'd love your opinion. Thanks!
Hello I'm also first year pharmacy student I loved your video alot keep up the good work ... the truth should be told the subject you study in Canada seems hard and include alot of deep information
Hey there! I'm a pharmacist student too. Glad that I found out your channel. Currently I'm at my last semester of B.Pharm. Can you suggest me how can I get e registered license in canada to work as a pharmacist? Take love.
heyy, i know this is very random but i’m considering doing b pharma from canada next year and to be sure about it and learn more i would really love to get some insight from someone who’s already doing it. do you think you can help me out pls? also any chance you’re an indian?
Wow like everybody here I'm so happy to find you , I'm a pharmacy student too I'm from Mexico city, and I'm exited to know that there are several students from all over the world whit the same passion in common, please follow us sharing your experiences in your next videos.
I'm a Canadian wanting to go into pharmacy as well! Keep up the videos, you're so cute 😊 also I was wondering if you know anything about if pharmacists can specialize after pharm school?
That’s awesome! Awe thanks ☺️. Pharmacists can definitely specialize, but it’s mostly the case when you work in a hospital. It’s not the same in every province but from my understanding usually you’ll do 1 year of a more general residency with different rotations and then a second year that’s more focused on an area you’re interested in. You can also work in more specialized pharmacies like ones that focus on mental health, or you can work in a primary care clinic like one focusing on patients with chronic pain. I hope that helps!
Hi!. I graduated Pharmacy school when I was 20 and passed the boards too. Missing the student life tho lol. Literally, i blasted my brains out when i was stuDYING antibiotics. However, that topic is combined with our Microbiology class. Hope you passed your exams tho! ❤
Can you explain a little more on how you graduated at 20? I’ve been trying to research the process on pharmacy school but I keep getting different answers. So do you need a bachelors degree before going into pharmacy school or do you go into pharmacy school right after getting your AA degree?
@@amourdior.1999 hi! Im from the Philippines and i'm not included on the senior high school curriculum. That means, when you graduated junior highschool(ages 16-17 but i was 16 when i graduated jhs), you can proceed to any universities and programs you want to attend to. Pharmacy schools here in the Philippines are 4 to 5 years program depending on what school you enrolled. I was enrolled in a 4 year program tho luckily and finished it on time. However, we have summer terms so that was exhausting because you have to do it for like 4 years lol.
This is awesome Armita! I like this channel because you got in after COVID happened. My interview with UofT Pharm is going to be asynchronous and it is in less than 2 weeks. Was yours online and asynchronous? If so, did they ask the same questions that are usually asked like: 1) Tell me about yourself 2) Why do you want to pursue Pharmacy? 3) Why did you choose our school? 4) What makes you think you are fit for this? 5)...etc etc
That’s great! Yes mine was online and asynchronous too with an interviewing software that recorded our response. It didn’t affect the questions though so expect the same MMI style ones. Apart from the personal questions like the ones you listed, there might be scenarios and questions about your opinion on a current topic (likely something to do with covid this year?!) another MMI style station would be “teaching” a skill to someone. It was very organized and the questions were very fair in my option. Best of luck to you!!
@@Armitta That's great! Other than preparing for those typical questions of an interview, what do you recommend one should do to prepare best for this interview? Did you read something? Did you take an online class for prepping or just knew your answers to the personal questions and winged the rest?
Also, they asked us to do a written part and Multiple Choice questions too. I forgot to mention that, did you guys get something like that? If so, how were those like?
@@rc1446 we only had the interview component and nothing written. How I prepared was looking online for different MMI scenario questions and timing myself answering them and practicing with others! I practiced my personal question responses but for the others I just got comfortable with formulating/organizing my answer no matter what the question was. You have some time to think so you can organize your thoughts like an essay: have an intro, 1-2 main points, conclusion. Also look on Facebook for Canadian MMI prep groups. They might have question banks and tips as well ☺️
hi i just ended up watching your video and i really enjoyed it , i would really like to see more of these , also these year im going to middle school and where i live in this time i have to choose my career so im only 14 and im kinda stressed out about it ,ive liked pharmacy since i was little but im not sure if thats what i want to do with my life ,im kinda afraid if its hard and just sooo many thoughts are going through my head rn
Hi! I’m glad you enjoyed it ☺️ that’s so great that you’re thinking about what you want to do in the future. You have lots of time to decide so don’t be stressed. I have another video where I talk about why I chose pharmacy over medicine and you might find it helpful to hear about some of my thoughts on pharmacy. Best of luck to you!
Is pharmacy hard in means of chemistry? I'm pretty good in memorization but I'm scared chemistry will be hard. I'm going to study pharmacy in September btw
Hi im a pharmacy student and yes, chemistry will serve as the backbone of learning especially when they integrate chemistry with medicine. Its a challenging program but worth the time
heyy. i plan on studying pharmacy in the usa or maybe canada, but i don´t really know how this works. could you maybe make a video talking about this? if, maybe, we have to start with a pre-pharmacy major or something?
*Armitta* Hey, I have a question, based on your field of expertise. Does marijuana/smoking pot make miserable, depressed people feel better? I'm working on a short story for a class, and I'm gonna have my bullied character do a certain drug he shouldn't be doing. I'm just not good at science and thought I'd better ask directly, for clarity.
Hi thank you for this video. I loved it. I’m studying in the US now (community college) and I’m thinking of transferring to U of T and im just watching as much videos I can. In which university you are if you don’t mind sharing? And what. Have been your prerequisite?
Hy I have a question, if you do pharma D in Uk then is there some exam to get registered in Uk plus what is eligibility criteria for Pharma D for graduates and undergraduates

Hello, I wants to apply in MSc. in Pharmaceutical Sciences in UBC. Can you help me in choosing which intake should I apply for, Jan intake or Sept. Intake?
I have classes at least 4 days a week (but usually all 5 days). Some days are longer than others when we have labs, which are usually twice per week. On a typical day I might be in classes from 8:30-5 with breaks in between!
I'm going to graduate this summer PharmD From Kuwait university And I'm actually thinking about getting my master's degree in canada But didn't have the time yet to look up for universities I'm very interested in clinical pharmacy And i was wondering if your university have programs for Master degree in clinical pharmacy?
Hi Armitta! I love your videos and want to go to pharmacy school as well :) I was wondering what you took in university before applying to Pharmacy School?
Hey Demi! Thanks so much and that’s great to hear ☺️ I did a Bachelor’s degree in biomedical physiology. It covered all the prerequisites for pharmacy and learning about the human body in detail was definitely helpful!
Hello Armita How are you? Armita I am thinking of doing Bpharm in India after that I may do masters in Canada? Will it be good to get a perfect job there ?
Awe I’m glad to hear that. It’s definitely a lot of work just like any other professional school but it’s worth it when you realize how much you’ve learned and how it can help others ☺️
God is merciful. Pharmacy school is stressful enough, adding unnecessary drama from low lives is the easiest way to blast a gun on someone's head. God please deliver me from enemies of progress in Jesus Christ name. Amen!!!!
Hi I'm pharmacy (B.pharma ) student from India 🙋🙋in chhattisgarh state My name is -Aman Ratre, But this covid pandemic I'm not going to cls😂😂😷 is not entrusting
I really want to do pharmacy in Canada. I live in Toronto. Is it true that pharmacy in the future is going to be different. I am so scared. I’ve always wanted to become a hospital pharmacist.
Maybe community pharmacy, but hospital/clinical pharmacists are so integral to the team that I don’t see that changing. Every ward needs a clinical pharmacist who participates in rounds to optimize therapy, answer questions, and make sure the most safe and effective treatment is being prescribed. Especially now with more chronic and complex diseases and patients taking more medications, that role will be even more essential ☺️. So if your goal is clinical pharmacy like me, I say go for it!
@@Zdd44 most universities require the PCAT which is an entrance exam. Your score from that exam combined with GPA and sometimes extracurricular activities is used for admission
Hi! To be honest, all pharmacy schools in Canada are good in my opinion because they’ve pretty much all transitioned to the PharmD program. It’s a good idea to think about which province you want to live/work in because one of the licensing exams will be province-specific.
@@Armitta thank you for replying. Im actually trying to survey some good places in canada for my little sister to study pharmacy. And hopefully for me to work
Hello 😊 some topics like infectious disease are pretty difficult but otherwise not too bad. What makes pharmacy school stressful is how much you have to learn in a short amount of time! I’m interested in either working at a specialized community pharmacy or in a primary care clinic.
hlw , i need hlp.I am studying in pharmacy(b.pharm) in Bangladesh .i wanna transfer my credits in any good canada university .can u help me to know the process ?
Hello Armitta mam, I'm surya from India. I'm graduated in B.pharmacy in 2019. Before admission into pharmacy course I was vry excited and bit nervous that time 2015. But i not get admission in reputed university or college, in my 4yrs during graduation i have gain few knowledge regarding pharmacy. I have cleared all my semester exams without backlogs but I'm expertise in all subjects especially pharmacology , medicinal chemistry, some topics pharmaceutics as well. I was appear for my Graduate pharmacy aptitude test exm but i couldn't qualified I score only 86 marks I have to score 142 marks. After that I appear my state level M.pharmacy entrance exm , secured 55 rank, I cant get free seat, so I have to pay fees for 2yrs cost 1lakh rupees. So I'm not join the course , thought I will take 1yr gap and Do job pharmaceutical industry in Production, QA,QC dept. After completing final yr exams, results came and I stay home 6months without jobs, because of jobs no fresher job vacancies in india, I dont have reference as well. So after that I get job in API drugs industry in India, in 3yrs back, in Production dept as chemist, I'm not satisfied my job because I dont get any skills, subject knowledge in Production department, I'm happy if I get job In Formulation industry at AR&D, QA or QC dept. But lm not eligible in these industries due to i have an experience in API industry. My pharmacy dream got shattered, I'm not interested doing M.pharmacy and join as a Lecturer & certificate holder. I regret my decisions. 😔😣😢😢
Heyyyyy ! Loved the vlog. Also i wanted to ask smthing. I am in my senior year and i have to pick a field next year and i want to go in pharmacy. But why did u pick pharmacy can u plz reply ! Also plz give me suggestions. Love ya❤️
In first year so far we’ve done patient interviews, assessments, and counselling on different medications or over the counter products. In labs we also learn how dispensing works, how to interpret prescriptions and adapt them if needed, contacting patients and physicians, etc. In the pharmaceutics labs we will learn things like compounding medications (for example making creams or capsules) and making IVs 😊
@@Armitta Thank you for answer I hope we will be excellent our job I am student in dentistry faculty but I interested pharmacy Both of them important for human healthy Stay happy and healty :))
