If you are going to put music in future videos, 1) Please don't compress the audio! 2) Please don't overdrive the audio so that it clips! 3) Please normalize the levels of speech vs music - speech should preferable be say 6-10dB louder than music - more if they are concurrently playing. Please do keep making vids :-)
Hi Adrian, Thanks for the video! It was entertaining for me. I have a couple questions: 1. Did you stay while working? :) Is it efficient? How long could you work like that? 2. Can you tell some important points about remote work? Isn't boring to work alone and be at home everyday? I'm asking cause considering remote work
1). I have a stool under my desk so I can alternate between sitting and standing throughout the day (though I feel like I stand more than sit). I don't know that it improves efficiency, but I feel better at the end of the day as opposed to sitting all day. 2). While it seems like remote work is "the dream" it's not for everyone. You have to put effort into things that you would normally get from working in an office, like socializing. That being said, if you can establish routines for those things, remote work is very satisfying. I've been thinking about making a video about the pros and cons of working from home, so stay tuned!
fellowv Except that is actually what software engineers do. & He could explain it generally while we watch, eg. what is he aiming to do, what are the challenges etc. That is most relevant to future software engineers. If you would rather watch him cook than watch him talk about software then I have bad news for you
Michael Magero go watch other day in the life engineer videos, this guy does 3 times as much work as any of those millenial losers. This guys video is the most realistic so far ive seen
Adrian sir could you please share some study stuffs related to CS like learning some technologies and using like a pro VIM LINUX and something like that ? well what's your configuration what are you using it seems so cool
Well as a freelancer and working remotely from home myself, that's barely how my every day goes, except, I eat breakfast at 2 P.M. thank you and keep making videos !
I work for a largish company. There are quite a few remote-only and remote-first companies out there, and it seems like there are more every day. You just have to keep an eye out for job postings that say something about remote.
I'm pretty sure it's Comcast. I've had several different routers in this house and I always end up losing connectivity at around 3pm. Sometimes it'll actually recover, but most of the time it needs to be reset.
If your router has telnet than you can use the below script to reset you router. Also if you have a Linux server in your local network, then you can set a cronjob for rebooting your router at 3 am/pm. Script: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- import pexpect import time, sys print "Router Restarting Press Ctrl + C to abort within 5 secs" time.sleep(5) telconn = pexpect.spawn('telnet 192.168.0.1') time.sleep(5) telconn.logfile = sys.stdout telconn.expect(":") time.sleep(5) telconn.send("Admin" + " ") telconn.expect(":") time.sleep(5) #Change password telconn.send("" + " ") print "Logged In Successfully" time.sleep(3) telconn.expect ("AP#") telconn.send("restart"+ " ") print "Restarted Successfully" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hope this helps you save the hassle.
Hahaha! I shove exactly the same way you do and I nitpick code legibility, specially when it comes to indentation and brackets/parenthesis. Every time I shove the snow I feel like as if I am manually correcting others code to make it more legible. Your comment crack me up! :D
i see you don't sit down good on you sitting is worse than never exercising I long wish to accomplish the goal of never sitting how did you manage this?
I keep a stool at my desk. If I feel the need to sit down I can, but then I stand back up after a little while. The more you stand, the less you feel like sitting.
How does it perform? I was thinking of getting the Mid 2015 Macbook Pro as my first Mac computer. Is it a good choice in 2018? support.apple.com/kb/sp719?locale=en_US
How much RAM do you think is enough for most tasks? I know that the brand new Macbook Pros now offer 32GB, but I don't know if I will need that much. Is it overkill for most developers?
My current laptop has 16GB of RAM and it works fine for most tasks. I run a dev box on AWS that's a t2.nano (512MB RAM) which works fine for my development needs. The only time I've had problems with it is with gradle builds and compiling some java programs.
Adrian Hannah , automation with conveyor belts? I liked to work in this branch. And to replace human workforce with machines seemed always right to me. It might lead to social tensions too but it is the right path to freedom.
I automate the deployment pipeline for software products to a production environment, or in the case of my current company, to a download server when a version is finalized and ready to be released to the public.
It's actually a pretty common problem with people that work remotely. It's just something you have to be more proactive about. I find that using meetup.com for finding people with similar interests works well. I also have a handful of friends that I meet up with on a semi-regular basis to get that face-to-face interaction. I, personally, find that working in an office with other people is more distracting than helpful.
Adrian Hannah I have video calls with my coworkers throughout the day and I routinely forget to close the lid on my laptop after I'm done with the calls.
>engineer >internet goes down everyday at same time >still didnt program a controller to automatically reset the router when that happens >resets manually everyday at the same time EVERY DAY >engineer
I generally don't, but I have meetings on Google Hangouts with other people in my company and I have my laptop open so I can use the webcam for those meetings. Then I just forget to close my laptop.
Why would someone mirror there own display, for themselves? I would understand mirroring on to a projector. Or if there was someone working with you. It just weird... like talking to yourself

Ouh man... first of all... it looks like you will have a big problems with your back if you work so high over the screen. But.. whatever... it's up to you. Secondly... looking at SLOC length.. looks like you are Java dev. :D
