I loved "yeah, I'm one of those guys who reviews food in cars. Come fight me." "Don't hit my car, child." Kid wanted to take him up on that fight. Then felt bad and kissed it to make it better.
Anyone suggesting the RU-vidr will die doing this challenge obviously didn’t watch supersize me, he may feel more groggy and feel the change of diet, but I have full confidence he will survive this week on McDonald’s.
As the real life Monopoly guy, I approve of this series. I think, more than anything, this one could get expensive, what with all the driving, not to mention eating out for every meal.
One reason why McDonalds may give a lower RDA than the normal one elsewhere is because the quality of calories you get there are a lot worse for you, and they know people should eat less of them. People who eat the same amount of calories but shift to a diet with more carbs or sugar tend to gain weight.
I think you would appreciate a documentary called Fat Head. It was basically a response to Supersize Me where someone did a similar experiment while watching calories and carbs and including moderate exercise. The worst thing that happened to him is that he just got really tired of fast food =P
I did watch Fat Head as well, but the thing he didn’t say was he also ate other stuff, his food diaries show protein bars etc. So it wasn’t solely fast food :)
I'm really appreciating how well-thought-out this Week On seems so far - a very straightforward concept, sensible limitations for the sake of your health, plus a bit of a fun bonus with the Monopoly going on. Looking forward to the rest!
How was it sensationalist? The point was a) increased portions over the decades b) iirc, McD's at that point claimed their food was completely healthy, but rather negated the concept of portion control and health by c) auto-offering supersized portions even if you hadn't asked
Ahhhhhhhhhhh! Mike you have me laughing so hard my stomach is hurting! Oh my goodness! When you put your tray of McDonald's food on the table, you were grabbing each food and drink item saying, "This is mine, This is mine, THIS is mine. This is MINE. AND, THIS is mine.". Bwahahahahahaha. Like kids on Christmas morning finding their names on the presents under the tree claiming, "This is mine! Oooo! This is mine too! That's mine! NO! That's MINE! Ohh! And this is mine too!" . LOLOLOLOLOL You are such a ray of sunshine for me Mr. Jeavons! Woo-weee! A little girl was kissing your car? See? She knows what a great guy you are and she doesn't even KNOW you! 😁😁👍👍
People freaking out in here is baffling. The weird way people view McDonald's, especially outside the US where they have stricter regulations, is totally irrational. He'll only be eating 2000 calories a day. He'll be fine.
BUT BRO bro bro... fat = fat, calories are a myth, eating mcdonalds creates a negative calorie paradigm, in which insulin causes your liver to reject glycogen, and your muscles just literally convert into body fat on a 1:1 basis. bro.
Thomas Jenkins Yeah the macronutrient and micronutrient content is shit and it isn’t good for health. He certainly won’t feel good but eating 2000 calories of it won’t make him fat.
Just started watching your channel and the "Week On"s two days ago and I've almost made my way through them all. I look forward to seeing this week unfold.
Another great series of week on again, totally looking forward to rest of this series. Also maybe you should do a giveaway with all the food instant wins you win throughout this challenge as knowing you're health conscious about what you eat lol 👍👍👍
Gumball_ my fav quote... Michael Scott: "if I was in a room with hitler, saddam hussein and Toby with a gun with only 2 bullets, I'd shoot Toby twice" 😬
Well you came in almost 500 calories below what your limit was. Maybe you should use that on a larger meal for dinner. Also maybe adding a glass of water extra to your meals to help with the extra salt you're taking in. Hell, you could get a water with your meals as well to cut back on the sugar. Maybe because the place I go to knows me well enough, they let me buy a plain salad and 2 grilled chicken breasts to cut up and put on my salad. That + honey mustard dressing is really good.
A lot of people will find themselves driving by a McDonald's several times a day on commutes and social driving, thus the cost of the drive is irrelevant to a lot of their customers, this is less likely the case for mike
i wish i could actually say i watch your videos because i love them which i do BUUUUT its mostly because your personality and voice is so calming to me.
back in highschool i did this during monopoly time, not cause i wanted the pieces but cause my friend bought me mcdonalds for breakfast, lunch, and after school, he wanted to win the big prizes and therefor needed to order more food than he would eat
Mike Jeavons healthy salad, that's against the rules. You should be eating the same type of food every day no health stuff this is not a McDonalds at all. You be buy from the value menu and breakfast only nothing more.
Luke Dixon As you know the overall out come of eating good. We want to know the overall out of the stranded food people buy for a meal. Not what some health freak would choose.
Part of me wants to see him through this week. Another part of me wants to see him rave like a lunatic in his car when his wins a big cash prize on the Monopoly game.
The 2500 kcal is bs, It's a blanket statement. It depends on your physical activity, age ect. And pardon me for saying, but you don't look much like a sport kind of guy. That 2500 is not for you.
This has probably been mentioned in another comment, and I THINK these 'Week On' videos are filmed in advance, but burgers and fries can be ordered without salt! The food will be fresh and it'll cut down on the salt hangovers. There may be certain breakfast items that can be ordered without salt as well. Special orders could actually make this week pretty alright.
Everyone thinking he's going to die needs to watch the movie "Fat Head" a direct rebuttal to "Super Size Me." McD's doesn't have to be that bad for you. It just depends on what you get and how you handle it. It's all just food.
Animation Destination Yes! I watched FatHead after Supersize Me. It's totally worth watching. Morgan Spurlock totally gorged himself on purpose to make himself sick. Whereas Tom Naughton took the diet seriously. Watch it!
Animation Destination Mike replied that he's seen fathead but didn't use it because the guy in the documentary also consumed protein bars, that are obviously now on the McDonald's menu. However, he did also stipulate that we was going to eat everything on the menu, so as to not have only salads and wraps. So double quarter pounders with cheese, big macs, McFlurries and large fries were all consumed. Also think about this: Protein bars are not weight loss devices. They're protein, whey, and sugar. To eat fast food every day and add protein bars and still lose weight should be noted, even if it did technically break his dietary rules.
Why do you always go to that McDonalds? That's miles from where you live! It's the one outside the hotel we stayed in filming NErdQuest (also a video of me ordering breakfast there is on my channel :D)
Oh, this should be fun, I bet you're gonna be so sick of McDonalds after this. Though I do pity you a bit now, since I imagine there'll be people wanting you to do a bunch of other fast food places after this.
I love McDonald's. I could easily eat it everyday. My favourite is either big Mac and fries or chicken wrap with cheese, mayo, extra salad and gherkins. As for calories, 2000 is for women and 2500 is for men. You will probably lose weight on 2000.
The wraps are the key at McDonald's, they are tasty not too bad on the stats and can eat one handed. Try the bbq bacon and chicken one using the crispy chicken, it's like 500 caps for a wrap but worth it
