As a Macanese living in Portugal and only going back from time to time, this definitely made me home-sick and wanting to move back. Thanks for the nostalgic feels and heartwarming vibes.
i really got curious. seems an interesting blend betweeen chinese and portuguese culture. I have a german passport. Do i need a visa for coming to macau from hkg?
@@chairman76 i had been there in january. honestly i didnt pick up any cantonese only mandarin :) i guess that was because of the cny mainland tourists
Macau is soooo similar to Portugal! The street tiles, the pastries, portuguese translations everywhere, even the car plaques!... made me want to go, and will most likely feel at home!
Love this. My family is from Macau - I have been on that ferry at least 20 times going back to when I was a child. I’m in my late twenties now... I remember as a child that I used to dread going back to Macau (pollution, entertainment is for adults etc.), but in recent years i’ve come to appreciate it’s uniqueness. Your vlog has certainly inspired me to try out a few areas I wouldn’t normally go to. Congrats on a very fine video!
Sam and Victor, thanks for sharing your trip to Macau. Your videos are beautifully composed and capture with sensitivity the soul of the city. The wonderful juxtaposition of the new and the old is what makes Macau such a fascinating place. Great call on A Lorcha, my favorite restaurant in Macau and a place I would travel to Macau just to eat there. Hats off to the great HD camerawork as the video quality is superb! Happy travels and look forward to seeing more of your installments.
This is what we missed when we went to HK. We didn't had the time to visit Macau. Thank you Sam and victor for taking us along with you guys. Hoping to see you when we get back to HK. By the way you're subscribers is gaining so fast. I'm so so happy and proud of you guys.
I have already visited Macau 2 times in 2023. However, I would like to visit there again! I think there is a small place with new and old things mixed together. Thank you for this Macau vlog. You bring a different style of Macau to me. Happy birthday to Victor! Good choice for the place.
I have the same appreciation. I ADORE these old unmodernised authentic interiors in cafes, shops etc. And you're right-- they're getting harder and harder to find no matter where you are in the world.
As a Portuguese living in the United States I found your blog beautiful and very informative it makes me want to visit some day however being that it's Macau I think that it would have been more appropriate to use Portuguese music and not Spanish!
Watching from NYC! 👋🏽 Happy Belated Birthday Victor!🎉 Love the vibe and aesthetic of Macau! A true cross between Old World Portugal and HK. I love places that have a vintage feel! ❤ Looks like you all had a great time in lieu of the rain and having to change hotel rooms! A must visit destination for sure!❤
Love those retro vibes and the mix of Chinese and Portuguese architecture etc. I'm not into gambling either but this video makes the place seem so charming. Probably not so easy for an outsider to visit though I imagine.
It's actually really easy to get around Macau as it's such a small city! You can simply do it by walking around and already will see so much stuff from this vlog!
you can still visit the casinos without gambling and just go there for photo taking and entertainment shows like 'the house of dancing water' macau is nice if you're into historical architectures and food (the charm about macau's food is macanese cuisine which is a blend or a fusion of chinese(cantonese), portuguese and african food)
@@masterma8143 buses here are the main transportations for locals and tourists so having a bus app would be more convenient for travelling (google maps also works for finding the right bus routes for your destinations)
Such a beautiful look into Macau 🌟 Glad to see the rain didn’t stop you ☔️ I just love your travel vlogs- and shopping trips as well. Happy belated Birthday Victor! 🎂🎉🥳🌟🥰
Great vid. Bit long and sometimes text is difficult ro read. Nice vibes you have edited. Lot of work. The vid is a good starting point for my trip to Macau❤ coming weekend.
Songs in Spanish in the video are an insult! Any thing sung in Portuguese or Cantonese would be ok! Apart from that the video is very good. Congratulations.
Hello, I am from Brazil and always enjoy visiting Macau. It is an excellent video, but your background music is in Spanish, as you know Macau is Portuguese, you shall play some Portuguese music as your background music. Cheers!
Amazing content! I have a few thousand 'walking macau' videos uploaded to my channel. And I must say I really appreciate the time and effort (this involves so much editing what you've done, and the time intensiveness of it - wow!). Great content though! Fantastic to watch, even though I've lived in Macau for 10 years, I never get enough of seeing Macau through as many different lenses as possible. If I wasn't already living here, your video would make me want to travel here immediately through your experiences!
I am watching from New Orleans, La. I’m new to your channel and I’m so excited when I see a new video is out. I don’t travel a lot but when watching your videos it motivates me to. You guys videos are the best. I just get captured by the beautiful views and how you show each location. I know a lot of work goes into this and it’s very much appreciated. Thank You !!!!
omg the third gen owner of laikei showing you all the old products is so cute !!! definitely stopping by there the next time i visit macau with my family hehe
Very nice shots and tour of Macao. I was born and grew up in Macao, so these brought back memories! I’m new to your channel, so please have a brief introduction to yourself like, your name....? I guess you are Sam? I love your style and how you dressed casual but elegant! 😍Thank you for the captions, subtitles, makes anyone easier to understand or refer to if they want to follow your footsteps!👍 One last thing: please don’t “compare” with Hong Kong! It’s 2 different cities!
You know the first music is in Spanish, not Portuguese, right? 😅 Not typical at all in Portugal or other portuguese speaking countries. The last music is actually typical from Brazil (Bossa Nova). I am surprised you guys found a samba that is in Spanish btw
Thank you for the vlog. It was a nice edit. Would you recommend the editing app that you use to a co-content creator like me? Also where do you get your music? they are nice as well. Thank you
Awesome feature you’ve made! I was raised in Macau and though now a Montrealer, your video is a perfect fix for my homesickness. I’ve always remarked the resemblance between Macau and Montreal and I am so excited seeing your Quebec reference in this!! Love your work. ❤
My parents lived in Macau for 14 years, and I lived there for 8, we left Macau 5 years ago now and I’m going back to live there in 1 more day after living in Australia! I cannot wait to go back and this video gave me some super nostalgic memories and got me really hyped for the trip! Thank you!
… and subscribed. The way you are documenting your trip has the realism and tranquility of a 4K street walk movie with the plot of a very personal travel documentary. Am no expert at all but this was very very satisfying to watch :) greetings from Germany.
Thank you for sharing the places where to stay and eat. I will keep them on my list until I revisit Hong Kong and Macau. Wish I could teleport there right now.😀❤
This video's title reminded me immediately of a line from the J Church song 'My Favourite Place': "Now I know that a weekend in Manila is not much fun...". I guess he never met you guys. RIP Lance. 💔
Stumbled across this video (and your channel) by chance and i just had to comment on how beautifully shot and edited this video is. Just the proper amount of narration here and there, lots of titles used and the background music binds everything together so neatly. Im from Macao myself, I wonder how many trips you have made back and forth between Senado square in this video😂.
I really liked this video a lot! I'm moving to Hong Kong in a couple of days on a working-holiday visa, but had no interest in visiting Macau. Except I am feeling like it's a must, after watching this. Thank you so much for the unexpected inspiration ❤🙏
Hi Sam & Victor, Really enjoy your minimalist style vlogs, been watching them nonstop. Would really appreciate it if you'd share the list of the songs you used in this vlog? They are really good.
What an amazing presentation! And the music too! Thank you! I would appreciate if you could give us an indication of the prices regarding transportation, hotels, food etc. Thanks 🙏
Hi, Sam! You're stylish and Victor has a handsome and nice manner, so I think you guys are a great couple. You guys are also very clever at editing videos, so I love it. Today I was watching a video and noticed that your left foot spins outward when you walk. You'll have pain in your left back and legs. You'd better take a look.
Nice and chilled video to watch. Love the almost laid back, 'off the beaten path', style of the video. 👍 The only gripe are the white text caption overlays. Too many instances of 'white on light background' at small point sizes in a spindly serif typeface made them very difficult to read (especially when watching on a small screen) - gave me eye strain. Being a designer, I know what you were aiming for but it didn't quite work. That said, I still enjoyed the video. 👍
You could use Brazilian or Portuguese songs instead of that crap in Spanish, but I think it’s all the same for you guys not used to the Iberian languages. Plus, you lost an opportunity to speak about the history of Portuguese legacy in town.
We just stumbled upon your channel......LOVE IT!!! You make Macau look crazy cool and beautiful!!! Thanks for sharing!!!! I mentioned to my partner that "I think by their accent, they are Canadian...." Then you mentioned Quebec! Nice 👍 Regards, your fans from Vancouver, Mike and Betty 😊
