I visited Mendoza some 12 years ago and still consider it one of my favorite trips. In addition to the amazing scenery, food and wine, I meet people that I am still friends with today.
There’s a wrestler named Diamond Dallas Page that says “You can get almost anything you want if you help others get what they want.” Looking forward to the changes you embrace, but hope you keep your current style. And by all means, don’t edit yourself out of the story. You are inspiring to your viewers!
I love that quote! ❤️❤️❤️ And I definitely won’t be editing myself completely out - I’ll just be focusing more on people doing cool things in their communities. Thanks so much for sticking with me!
Mendoza is high on our list of possible retirement cities. We retired about 18 months ago. We have lived in 3 countries in Central America, but Argentina is calling and will very likely be our next stop. We look forward to more of your videos, guessing they will mostly be in BA We also hope to visit BA, Bariloche, Salta, Mar del Plata, and Ushuaia….any chance you will visit any of these ? Thanks ! Scott n Lidia
Les va a encantar Mendoza, la cordillera de los Andes, las calles arboladas, es una cuidad bosque en el desierto. Tienen que ver la Fiesta Nacional de la Vendimia. 🍇🍷🍾
You seem to have quite a trip planned! You should check out the Iguazú falls in Misiones (not to retire, but it’s an amazing weekend trip) and look into Córdoba, just google it, it’s a very nice city surrounded by gorgeous natural landscapes, mountains, little alpine towns with snow during winter, beautiful rivers and streams. Similar vibes to Mendoza, but it’s a bit larger. Good luck on your adventure from BA!
hey nice video man i hoped you enjoyed yor visit. As a mendocino myself i stronglly advice you to go to the potrerillos dike next time you come around, is a very famous place around here and very close to the city with stuning mountains and a lot of snow in this time of the year.
hi! North West (NOA) is comprised of many other provinces, such as Salta (Wine, yeah), but Mendoza is in the western side of Argentina, near Los Andes Range
great content! 90% of the people in Buenos Aires are NOT friendly or customer-centric, so i'm surprised you didn't note the contrast from your fantastic experience in Mendoza (haven't been yet)
LOS MEJORES PAISAJES DE 💙🤍💙🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷ARGENTINA: GLACIAR PERITO MORENO, CATARATAS DEL IGUAZU, LAS MONTAÑAS DEL NORTE, EL VALLE DE LA LUNA DE SAN JUAN, ETC.. Y CERCA DE CAPITAL, EN BUENOS AIRES, IR A LA ESTANCIA " LA CANDELARIA". 😊😊😊👏👏👏✌✌✌
You should definitely come to Mendoza again when the weather is better as the amazing views of the Andes is one of the best things about visiting Mendoza. Today, for example, is very sunny and the you can see the white mountains crystal clear. I'm not originally from Mendoza but I came here for the first time back in 2021 and inmediately felt in love and stayed.
Dude you just went to all the rich people places lol seriously nobody told you to go to "Pizzería Capri", the Central Market, the Gral. San Martin Park? That's the ultimate Mendoza experience. You were robbed lol
I'm excited for the channel's new direction. Places are always more memorable and meaningful when we connect them with the people we meet inhabiting them.
It is so nice to hear that your contact with Mendoza and its warm people made you rethink the direction of your videos to include more of the local people's stories. I think that is the best of trips. I am originally from Buenos Aires but I settled in Mendoza 30 years ago and just fell in love with the calm pace and the look of the Andes range...you unfortunately missed it. Next time we promise sun and the bluest sky.
👏🏽 Ilook forward to your new slant on your videos. I have traveled for 40+ years and yes the tourist destinations draw crowds and some are very interesting. However, I've always preferred seeing how the locals live and what the communities are really like. Argentina makes the best Malbec. 🍷 ❤ Safe travels Travis 🛫🚇🧳🚕
Mendoza looks beautiful and I agree with others that you are a wonderful storyteller! I will definitely stick with you as your channel changes, I think that you are awesome.
I just love your storytelling. I want to do the entire tour you did (and I dont drink anymore) but Mendoza has been on my list for many years. Can't wait to see more -gracias Guapo💗💖
@@TravelWTravis I used to and Malbec from Mendoza region was been my favorite for past 7 yrs and when I saw the title of your video - hit play so I can see it asap 😍😄
Thank you for visiting and the words about Mendoza. You were a bit unlucky with the weather ´cause it´s usually sunny, but it´s winter time now. I once was a traveler to this lands and fell in love with the place and the people. Hope you come again, preferentially in September/October (our spring) or February/March (end of summer and wine harvest).
I visit Mendoza regularly, and never get tired of it. As you only went for a weekend you missed a lot. Like going to Villavicencio, the Parque Aconcagua and the Plumerillo Historic camp, a museum of the place where José de San Martín prepared his army to cross the Andes and liberate first Chile and then Perú. You also should make time to go to the city of San Rafael and visit the Atuel. Better go in october/november
Wow, this is surreal to see you rebrand your channel! I was watching and interacting with Cafe Con Leche for a while, as we considered Merida. We LOVE Mendoza and spent six months here in 2023 and another six this year (2024). Unfortunately, we now have to leave (since it got way cold and I got a gig in Napa). You found the short period of cold and wet out of the last eight months. It's been blue and perfect most of the time. Gorgeous mountain views from the bike paths and vineyards. Come back in March-May. We have decided to spend half the year here foing forward.
Hi again! ❤️ Glad you found me and that’s so amazing you got to spend so much time in Mendoza! I can’t WAIT to go back in the spring / summer months - it must be so magical!
@@TravelWTravis It's pretty darn good. The peso has just regained about 20% when purchased with $USD. Both in cash (aka 'dolar blue') and on credit card (MEP rate). 1300 pesos to the dollar today, meaning our costs are less. I recommend getting out of MDZ city next time, and visit Lujan de Cuyo to the south. Agrelo (further by half an hour) and Valle de Uco are great locations for wine tastings. The Andes (referred to as the Cordillera, here) are stunning with fresh snow against a Colorado blue sky.
Love you dancing by the letters, as always. REALLY looking forward to seeing the new upcoming video focus. Highlighting local people and their businesses is a very worthwhile project! - Anne
Hi Travis, it's good to see your lastest video. Mendoza seems a very interesting place. As you had such a big breakfast - I would have liked to know what you actually ate!! Loved the horse riding and you meeting new friends. Enjoy and stay blessed!! 😊😊
Solo has visto una pequeña parte de lo que es Mendoza, si visitas el sur, lo que es Malargue, San Rafael y Alvear, veras que hay mucho para ver, en especial los paisajes, tampoco hay que olvidarse de las montañas en Uspallata.
Hi Travis! Thanks for your content! I will be going to Mendoza next month. I have 2 questions: 1. Can you share your contact for the restaurant tours 2. I was recently told that given the currency instability, if you pay by credit card you may be charged up to 50% more than paying in pesos/cash. Any tips here? We will be there for 4 days. Thanks for your help!
Travis - thoroughly enjoy your travel videos and your very positive attitude. You give me plenty of ideas and potential locations for my wife and I to visit - thank you
Hey travis what a great energy u bring to youtube and arg, Thank u ❤ If you are thinking new spots, catamarca is magic and not so explore, not even by us argentinians. Also el chalten, gonna jaw drop
Love this Travis! It's the connections that matter in life so this is is a great direction for you to take. I think it will prove to be a breakthrough for your channel.
❤️ LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!! And miss you when you’re gone. Looking forward to whatever style you present. They’re always done so well and thoughtfully. Thank you. 👍🏾
No one says just how 'typical' this cloudy weather is in the winter time of year ? -- As a dry desert like climate - I suspect not too much - unless these mountains cause some weird occurances ? Cloudy days per year ? / Sunny days per year ? 🤔
Let me correct you a little bit: mendoza is located on the West CENTRAL part of argentina. You said NORTH west: you will find Salta and Jujuy there, which have a totally different landscape and food industry. Flight to Bs As to Mendoza: it is just one hour, not two as you said. And flights can be way cheaper than that. Also important about your “expectations vs reality” :Well you can expect wine and good sunshine all year long EXCEPT in winter dude!! That is just basic common sense. Hope you can up the culture game AND your videos
Great channel and video! I love the idea of managing expectations. That is a lesson I continue to work on in my own life. Living in the moment and embracing the present is key.
Love your video, I’m from Mendoza I thought I’ll see a bad review of the city, but ended up being a nice one , I’m happy you got to see and enjoy the city despite the sun wasn’t shining
I came in here as a Mendocinean to fight some gringo disliking something about coming in the middle of winter but hey, wait a minute! This guy did all the right things. I'm glad you enjoyed, come back soon!
This video is simply outstanding! I just started watching your channel and am so grateful. My partner and I are booked to be in Buenos Aires next January and February… your videos, especially this one, have me the most excited for that 2 month stay! We will be sure to seek Nicolas out for a tour. I loved your question on how travelers can give back, and his answer. We’ve been to over 63 countries, and there is such a need for people in the USA to get outside those borders!!
Depends what you consider expensive? I think there are plenty of affordable places, but you can always find ways to spend a bunch of money as well 🤷♂️
@@elperro3056local here. Prices did go up a bit, mainly food and utilities (electricity, gas, water, etc) but with 2000-2500 you’ll be fine. It’s not absurdly inexpensive as it used to be a year ago, but it’s not absurdly expensive either. I guess it also depends on how much rent you are planning to pay, in puerto madero you won’t find anything for less than 1k (and that’s already hard to find), but aside from puerto madero you will find very decent apartments for 500 bucks in nice neighborhoods.
