Excellent camerawork and editing as usual. Nice to see trains that are (mostly) graffiti free. Didn't know the GWNs had moved, last saw them in Whyalla in 2017. Good catches on the old electrics, only saw 1 set of those near Rockhampton in 2014. I like Yukan as a location, you can get mainline action and cane trains at the same spot. Cheers from Pennsylvania USA!
Thanks for watcing mate! Yea the 3500/50s have been pulled from the Blackwater only 3800s and 73s on that network with some GT42s sprinkled in from both PN and Aurizon. You see one train, you've pretty much seen them all. Yea Yukan is interesting, However the crush hadn't started when I went there in May. You can't stay there for more than 20 minutes thanks to protestors, Dylan and I had an Aurizon employee tell us to move on in 2021 despite being on the cane train side. I've figured to head there in the late afternoon to get a shot of one or two trains then bugger off.
The loopies trying to stop Adani. Heaps of trains on the Newlands and a few on the West Moreton system were targeted leading up to the Carmicheal mine opening. It has eased off in recent times. There were police constantly patrolling the Newlands line
HI KYLE!! Kind regards from Bs. As. Argentina, amazing footage!! I usually follow your videos and another ones related to railways in Australia. Min. 14 electric locos, made in Australia or bought abroad?? Are used for passenger trains in QL also?? Min 05/08 Introduction of Rail it, what are the wagons used for?? All the best Mate, Rodolfo
Hi Rodolfo, the 3500/3900s were built in Australia by Walkers Limited in the late 80s at Maryborough. They were used on freight and passenger on the North Coast and Central Lines until the early 2000s. Everything in the video is coal. Glad you enjoyed, take care!
Great job ! I've been waiting to see that video for some time ! It's nice to see some 3500's still in rvenue service. When are they scheduled for replacement, any idea ? Do you know why One Rail didn't purchase electric locos for the Goonyella system instead of the ORN class ? Cheers from France !
@@kylegleeson8638 couldn't any manufacturer like UGL or any other company build new electric locos ? Anyway its good to see the 3500's still hauling heavy coalies. Could the 3500's be eventually rebuilt in the future like the 3700's have been ?
I don't think there is an interest. I did hear rumours of China manufacturing new locos. Nothing has eventuated there. I doubt they will be modified. It's cheaper in the long run to build new. We have become a throw away society
Made at the same time in the same factory, likely the share running gear, same with the ice units. Use to run around Brisbane hauling the SX passenger carriages
@@voltare2amstereo I didn’t think they’d use the same running gear as the emus and ice’s I thought they would have used something more powerful but it makes sense
