A whole shopping mall dedicated to Anpanman? J P

Imagine a shopping centre entirely dedicated to long-running children's anime series, Anpanman! Well there are five of them across Japan (mostly in Honshu).
In February 2020, we took a visit to the mall in Sendai and saw everything from clothing, bags, toys, cakes and sweets, to ribbon, fabric and buttons featuring Anpanman, his enemy Baikinman and all their friends/associates.
There's also a children's museum in the same building, but that was definitely for kids. Even if you don't pay to go to the museum, the characters still walk around the mall, so you can meet them without paying to go into the museum.

I'm autistic, Anpanman is one of my special interests and this video had me happy stimming throughout the whole thing 😭 I wanna go there so badly one day!! Thank you for making this!

Awwwww! Hi ash! We have a lot in common. I’m also autistic and love Apanman to death . I’m in the USA , which finding merch is difficult to find . The only thing I have from Apanman is that backpack I found at a thrift store . I cut the straps off and I use it as a pillow . I also want to go there so badly as well. Ashamed to say, I’ve been to 3/5 of these places...my daughter’s 7 now so I doubt we will complete the set. Btw the guy you were trying to win was Shokupanman, he delivers the school lunches to the schools and Dokinchan has a crush on him.

Oh, but you need to complete the set now, you're so close! Even if you have to go without your daughter because she'd be too embarrassed to go somewhere for little kids! We did learn Shokupanman's name afterwards, but didn't know his back story - thank you for this extra info! :-D

The haberdashery! I would have had a lot from there. Do they all have malls? We considered the Yokohama one but ended up at Cup Noodle Museum (fabulous). Great video. Thank you.

Thanks Kerry! Yes, the haberdashery was amazing! We would have filmed other shops, but it was difficult if there were other people inside them. I don't think they all have malls, or at least they don't all have big malls like Sendai. We're hoping to go to Yokohama (probably including the Cup Noodle Museum) next time so if we have time, we'll probably try to see the Anpanman Mall too!
