A WILD FOX & A WOLF MAKE FRIENDS ~ A True Story 

One time I was walking my Alaskan husky and a wild coyote ran onto the trail in front of us and tried to play with my dog. They sniffed noses and the coyote did a play bow and tried to engage with us. My dog was on a leash and I was worried he would try to chase the coyote, but he didn't. We saw the coyote several more times that day peeking out from the trees and sprinting around playfully. Super friendly critter! I always wondered what happened to him. Hope he's ok. I really enjoyed this video about the fox and made me think of my coyote encounter. I've seen the video of Ocean with the fox and always wondered the story behind it!

There has to be something really wrong with someone that wants to kill a fox because it's too friendly. You should be honoured this moment happened to you because it's so rare.

I’ve had foxes in my yard for 20 years. Foxes are actually amazingly sweet creatures. Unless you’re a squirrel. They take care of each others young. They’re social. I have videos of the foxes here lying down with a lone deer while the deer grazed. I have another video of another fox sitting together with one of the raccoons eating seed from the birdfeeder for like 20 minutes. I love them. They also like watermelon.

Animals are wonderful, humans could learn so much from them

As a Canadian living in a rural municipality, it's common to see foxes, coyotes, deer, rabbits and other wildlife. It doesn't occur to anyone to hunt them. This fear of UK citizens to be afraid of wild animals is one of the reasons the ecosystem of the British Isles is so decimated.

I had a fox make friends with my Bull mastiff once. I was worried about rabies, but he was just a friendly curious chap. Now coyote/wolf/dog hybrids are another story. They haaaates each other.

I had a husky named Zorra I rescued her from the shelter the day she was to be put down, it was my birthday present to myself. My husband wasn't to happy. Lol. I had her for 14 years shee was so sweet.

I love how you talk about the "inner demon" of wanting to keep wild animals we find. My thing is reptiles and I'm on Texas, where there's ALOT of wild reptiles. I have to fight that "inner demon" to bring every reptile in I find. I figure it's cruel to take them away from their environment even if they meet a grizzly end. Plus, what if I can't replicate their needs..I'd be making them suffer unnecessarily.

Lonely little fox, it reminds me of the three legged coyote that is alone and befriended a local dog or the young black wolf in Juneau Alaska who is alone and visits the local dog park to play with his dog friends.

There was a mother woodchuck and her baby that lived our yard , my girlfriend was worried our dogs would get them , but both were run over by a car nearby . The mother had lived under the barn for a few years and she would come up to me if she saw me eating watermelon which she really liked . Before that it was a mother skunk after a few years she got old and wasn't walking very well so I would feed A variety of food and kept water in a dish for her until she died and I buried her in her burrow . She never made any attempt to spray me !

We had a fox play eith our boxer every spring. It was so cute.

My malamute made friends with a coyote. He was so excited he literally fell head over heels as he rushed to tell me about it! We have a red and a black wild fox visiting us which our cat is very curious about. And recently we had a mountain lion sitting on our patio for some time, completely content to sit quietly and stare out over the cliff on the backside of the property. The mother of the foxes came to us for weeks prior to birthing them to look for food. We know she must have told her pups that they should come to us if they needed to. They are still 100% wild. We live extremely remotely. The greatest risk in our area is starvation, not humans. So it’s ALL good. They are so clever, resourceful and respectful. I had to dissuade them from thanking me with stool, which when I was stern that it wasn’t what we wanted as a thank you, they ceased completely. It was not a marking of territory, it was simply a show of gratitude. Cheers. 👋

I think it's nice to see different species of animals become friends

Sometimes animals that are lonely for some reason cross the species boundary. My experience was very unusual with my late spaniels. A beaver in Scotland yes i kid you not. Do have photos. There was even a wildlife camera crew hidden on location i never even knew were there they were so well hidden for weeks until they approached saying what the hell 🤣. I wish humans were so understanding.

I lived on the grounds of Metropolitan State Hospital 2017-18, where every week I had unique coyote encounters. I just have always been good with animals and with Native American Indian ethos kept calm, even when a coyote would be an arm's length away. They are so awesome, majestic too not pests. Lots of squirrels, raccoons, hawks too.

My Yakutian Laika has made friends with a neighborhood fox. The fox will call for him in the evening. I have to keep an eye on my dog though because he did jump the fence to go play. Thankfully he came right back but I have to keep a GPS monitor on him now. As much as I'd love to feed the fox I just won't do that, for the reasons stated in this video. The sad thing is, there used to be two of them but a coyote killed one. 😢. I heard my dog barking loudly one night and looked out and saw a coyote going in between our houses. After that night there was only one fox, so that's what I suspect happened. 😢

The reason they shoot the foxes is because they keep chickens, people in the city don't shoot foxes because they don't keep chickens.

PSA. This is not going to be fun. If you live in the US, India, parts of Africa, or anywhere else where rabies is present to prevalent, please know that friendly fox you see, particularly in the daylight, that beautiful animal could in full possession of rabies. Just be aware. -I love this channel. I love anything to do with wolves and their preservation. They are my animals. I just had to point that out. I studied to be in animal care, and I'm in the US. It's just one thing they harp on at school.

Anneka, 👸🌹If a fox came up to me like "Pappy", I would think it was rabbit?🦊 Once as a boy I all most caught a Coyote puppy. 🐺A Coyote would be a cool pet, but it would always be a wild animal. US law forbids keeping wild animals as pets. I love watching them in the wild and they are much happier in the wild. Fox’s are beautiful creatures unfortunately many humans most certainly are NOT

Humans pets are friends with wildlife allot more than allot of us think. I started to notice this when i was walking my dog late at night next to a park here in Scotland, i was just strolling with her on the lead when suddenly we came upon a friendly hot dog dog 🐕 at first i didnt see the fox just up on a ledge watching us, but then i realized the fox and dog were friends and were just chilling, my dog wanted to chase the fox but i just made her sit downnand for a minute or 2 we just stayed there looking at each other, it was awesome! On the other hand one night i saw one cat just strolling and it had about 3 or 4 foxes tailing it and they were slapping each other n stuff. Cats are such madyins lol.

I have a fox i feed. I am careful just to put food out say a quick hello, then leave, as don't want her/him to get too comfortable with humans

Just think about those who wears their skin of these nice creatures.

You know...maybe it would be a good idea to not report her being alive as those nutters will want to harm her anyway. Also it's probably not a good idea not to feed wild animals anyway. I know people in England like to but it's not really wise. I'm against even feeding squirrels regularly.

different species of animals befriend each other all the time! I'd bet everything has some friends in other forms.. it's almost always about helping each other.. certain birds pick the teeth of crocodiles clean.. the birds know they will not be eaten, the crocodile needs a dentist! foxes hunt with cats.. and sometimes they team up with badgers too

It saddens me beyond what I can express that there are people in our society who want to kill such an innocent fox. I can understand that some farmes get annoyed by such animals if they hunt their chickens or whatever but these people probably don't even have such a motive, they just like to hurt innocent animals, they feel superior by destroying other life.

It makes me really sad how cruel some people on social media talk about wild animals. There are still people in the US who gleefuly gloat about wanting to hunt the entire coyote species to extinction.

We have 2 Northern Inuits and 2 Fox pups on our early morning dark walk would sit and watch us, then one morning they followed us and by month end they wanted to play. My two looked at us as in...ohh do we, so just ran around one was black fox with the most beautiful eyes and really thick tail red. They looked well fed.. then they just ran off back into woods. Only encountered odd few times as our male loved them, we lost our male then the following morning the black one was in the meadow sitting. She came forward her little yap, looking straight at hubby, who was still distraught, stared hard at him then ran off. Hubby still sees her sitting on church wall the odd morning, theybsay food morning to each other. The other one we havent seen for ages. ❤

A love foxes, and feel sorry for them as they get badly abused by alot of humans. I just dont understand why any one would want to hurt and even kill a fox? Becouse there so friendly and also scared and now wonder as they know what humans can or will do to them. There really is alot of sick people with a twisted mind and must have a really sad life to hurt or kill a fox just becouse they can, or they see it as a game! I used to put food out for foxes at night where i used to live since i was a kid but then i noticed that dogs where eating it as well, and more than a fox as dogs will chase them away. I had a great neihbour who knew alot about animals and how they behave, and i was age about 13 at this time and he said to me its not a bad thing feeding foxes but dont over do it. And i said why not? And he said becouse it can attract rats and trust me you dont want them around? Just put out what you dont want to eat basicly, but dont go out your way and buy them food, that is what he was meaning basicly, and even said so. I said but we dont have rats here? I have never saw one ever except where theres empty old houses or jungle like landscapes with just trees and grass a mile long and half a mile wide. And he said and a bett you rarely saw them over there? As we spoke about the area i was meaning, it was an area just a minutes walk from our houses and we could see it from our backdoors, it was hard to believe that just 20 years before it there was prefabs there that people lived in and was like a housing scheme in a housing scheme? And if i hadnt seen the old photos of it i or any one my age would never have believed it. As you could see so much of the old paths that were still there as we spoke, but through time the grass had coverd so much of what it used to look like and with trees around 10 to 15 feet high? And alot of them just makes them look bigger than they are. This was in ferguslie park, a large housing scheme that people under the age of 40 probably dont even know that the scheme is much bigger than they think, and the same to people that dont live there, and even people that work there. As so much was just totaly forgotten about, as if it didnt exist to start with. And in 1996 the council even pulled down so much off the bottem end of the scheme when there was nothing wrong with the houses. They just needed a bit of renovation, like knew windows, doors, thats about it, nothing major or far to dear. They didnt do this to other schemes as in gallowhill, foxbar, glenburn, hunterhill, and so many houses in gallowhill are badly riddled with dampness, and the council know it. O no that would look bad? But we will just run over the whole bottom end of ferguslie park? And the bottom end of the scheme is very big, large, or sprawling as the daily express puts it, from the tannahill centre down to greenhill road. "The large sprawling housing scheme" but not once has the local rag ever said that about foxbar wich is very big or any where else. Plus these tenements that was built in the bottom end in around the early 1950s, were all strongly well built with inside walls built by brick, not like todays houses or even ones built in the 1960s that have inside walls built by hardboard just nailed onto beams of wood every 2 and a half to 3 foot wide beams at 2 or 3 inches thick all round. And with the ceiling about 7 and a half feet high, if that. But they houses will stay up untill they basicly fall down themselfs. And companys do fool people on how they look, but after a month familys are complaining that there sockets have just fell off plus the light switches, and the gas boilers are so cheap they cant even have a hot bath as the bath water is only luke warm if that? And in the winter its just cold? So they have to stand under a small cheap shower that takes 5 minutes for the water just to reach your shoulders and thats as far as it goes as in getting wet. People tell me they take a shower for 20 minutes and when done there legs are still dry. As the showers pushing out water like a kids water pistol lol, and the rent is at least 4 to 500 pounds a month? But back to the fox,...my neibour said its also not a bad thing to feed a fox as maybe even two or three will come if its her cubs, plus there great for keeping rats away as thats there favourite food, a rat. And there great at catching them, the fox knows the rats behavour and weaknesses, plus a rat will smell if a fox is around the area alot that there feeding in, so it will move away. But rats only go where theres food. So its a case of the fox has to kill and eat as many rats it can to say this is my area and my food, but its not enough food or any where near it for rats to want to stay here, and they only go about 50 yards or a bit more to where there nesting so they can get back in time for it will have a litter. Usually about 9 inches under the grass. But about the same inches further away under the grass so they cant be seen, and its where theres alot of shrubbery and bushes, to cover it. And the real reason the council took away so much of the bottem end is becouse too many houses where on housing benefit, simple. I worked it out for myself. Do you believe if 60 to 70% where paying there rent they would have pulled those flats down? And a mean hundreds of them? No chance, of course they wouldnt.

I've personally seen completely wild foxes almost domesticated to the point of being pets. There's something odd about foxes and how quickly they can become domesticated. Maybe they hold the secret to dog demesticstion.
