@Jason Howe His Auto-glass van was kitted out with an expandable canopy that he attached to conveniently positioned lamp-posts either side of my drive way. The work was carried out under shelter and completed in 45 minutes. I was well impressed!

Get it replaced, even one stone chip would need to be replaced as its not safe. You would also fail your MOT if you went in with chips or cracks. Hope this helped.

Exact same problem today. Only noticed once i got home. The trim all scraped.

Genuine glass is expensive, you'll only get it if your insurance approves or you're willing to pay extra

Because Car is generic in England and Auto is generic in Germany. they would not be able to protect the brand name the other way round. You can't trademark an everyday generic term.

@@ianedwards26 Hi Ian, would you know if the rubber trim surrounding the windscreen on a bmw (6 series) is also changed when the windscreen is changed? Does a genuine BMW windscreen that has been specified come with those bits as part of the kit? Many thanks in advance if you can give an answer and thanks anyway. Kind regards

@@dougquaid4745 the trim is not replaced unless it is damaged ,then it would be re booked until they got hold of new trim ,because of safety only trade can do repairs ,you cannot buy any glass replacement tools ,perhaps China might sell them but not UK

@@ianedwards26 many thanks for the info, I have no intention of trying to do this myself 😂 its just that some of the trim is in quite bad shape,. I thought they would have had to damage it to cut the old window out, thank again Ian

@@sweetvuvuzela4634 The guy got fired, security were already watching him, the same as any guest on my employers premises, some are accompanied by security guard others are just watched on CCTV, it is a high security environment I work in.
