A winter walk through Benthuizen | The Netherlands, South Holland [4K 60fps] 

A walk through the beautiful village of Benthuizen.
Benthuizen has a long history that goes back to the beginning of the 12th century,
For centuries, peat cutting from the peatlands in the surrounding areas was an important source of income for the inhabitants of the village, as is also reflected in the coat of arms of the municipality
(the elongated blocks are peat briquettes).
The walk takes you past historic buildings, national monuments and the beautiful Dutch polder landscape.
Benthuizen heeft een lange geschiedenis die teruggaat tot het begin van de 12e eeuw,
Eeuwenlang was turfwinning uit de veengronden in de omliggende gebieden een belangrijke bron van inkomsten voor de dorpelingen, zoals ook terug te zien is in het wapenschild van de gemeente
(de langwerpige blokken zijn turfbriketten).
De wandeling gaat langs historische gebouwen, rijksmonumenten en langs het prachtige Hollandse polderlandschap.
