A lovely donation Nobby. Very similar to my first lathe which was a Grindturn, about the same size. Looking forward to seeing you getting it up and running. Cheers, Alan.
Great gift Nobby👍👍👍👍👍👍 we both have a micro lathe now, with loads of accessories still to make. We can compare notes as we get in to the journey of "microlathing"!! I also have the Micro Adept Shaper powered version as rare as "Hens Teeth" it seems! see you next time atb Kev
It's not quite in the same league as your micro lathe Kev, but I'm so pleased to have it. I can see many projects around it. I'd love to have an Adapt or Cowells hand operated shaper. Usually too expensive or too far away to collect. I can dream. ATB Nobby
@@nobbysworkshop don't underestimate the wizard Nobby, with some nice mods it will be 2 or three leagues higher. Just waiting for you to get stuck in to it. I know you will make some great thorough Mods to it, Happy micro lathing.👍👍 Come on England⚽⚽⚽⚽ another Stressful night!!!😉😉🤔🤔 take care Kev
Thanks Mark. I'm not sure if I would have the skills to make one, but I will look in to it to see what's involved. I am going to make a face plate for it. Although it's very small I have managed to dial in a piece of round stock in the 4 jaw chuck. I'm absolutely delighted to have it. I guess you can tell? ATB Nobby
Nice gift Nobby. Small vintage lathes are far more capable than a lot of people give them credit for. I will be keen to see it setup and operational. Cheers Rob
I absolutely love it. I know it's a copy of the Adept lathe, but such a pleasing design. So many other similar micro lathes made at this period. I'm sure you're right about the pulley wheel, going but the angle of the spokes. I've ordered a sewing machine pulley to make up a counter shaft. Cheers Nobby
@@julias-shedHi Julia the centre height from the top of the ways is 1 3/4" 45mm. The bed of the lathe has a cut out centre height 2 3/16" the restriction here is the distance from the back of the spindle nose thread to the end of the ways 1 1/2". The 4 jaw chuck that came with it is 3 1/4" diameter. Hope all of this makes sense. Cheers Nobby
@@julias-shedyou're right Julia, it's the size of my Myford chuck. The 4 jaw chuck on the Wizard is really too big. When you wind the jaws out too far they hit the ways. Thanks for checking anyway Julia. Very kind of you. ATB Nobby
