Amanda, I am in tears. I know how it feels to be misunderstood. I was told by a cousin who I thought cared about me, that "nobody likes you." Those words still haunt me and hurt to my core. While my therapist said that it isn't true, and that there are plenty of people who like me, the pain of having someone say such a cruel thing to me hurts everyday. 💔 Though you don't know me, I've admired you from the time I became aware of you. As a Black woman, I am so proud of you and all you've accomplished. Thank you so much for being YOU. 🙏🏿♥️🙏🏿
@inmyOWN_world Yes, I understand. It's not easy. Maybe, the challenge for us is to find a new circle of friends and/or other interests. Being isolated during the pandemic didn't help us. We just became more comfortable being alone. Let's challenge ourselves to do at least one thing each month that gets us out of our comfort zone. During April, I'm going to visit a cousin who is recuperating from a bad vehicle accident. What are you going to do? That is, if you accept the challenge. Obviously, you don't have to. 🙏🏿
I'm sorry that has happened to you all. I've had people try to weaponize that falsehood against me as well, including by a student I mentored despite my better judgement. I will definitely say this though. The type of people who try to convince you that everyone thinks poorly of you because they are upset by you are really only trying to hurt you. It's good to self-reflect and better yourself, but taking on someone else's hate is not that at all.

People in our society think everything that’s become hardwired in a person over the course of literal decades magically disappears once the person ages into adulthood or becomes a celebrity, and it couldn’t be further from the truth. Human biology, psychology, physiology, aaaall the “-olgies” simply do not work that way….at all…like not even a little bit. Those of us who understand this though see you, hear you, and sincerely appreciate you. 💜

I have a bit of advice for you: 1. Accountability is always good. Mistakes happen and bad days; misspeaking and erroneous opinions are a THING. BUT don’t let the criticism of the opps cause you to go and look for wrongs you never committed. It’s like a dog chasing his tale you will always be in motion for some shit not easily attained. 2. Don’t let the lack of love you’re experiencing from the group who has chosen to partner with craziness smother the group of us who actually love you for real. I bet the second group is far bigger than the first group. I know it hurts because the wrong people in the right places have it out for you. But we love you girl and all negativity will vanish concerning you. It’s only a test sis. Focus on the love given opposed to the lack of love that’s issued. I’m in the background of your life holding you up sis… you got this.
