I remember back in the day when me and my brother used to watch dbz in our neighbors Window listening to that song. And whenever that neighbor caught us peeping they turn the channel& close the Window. so I promised myself I'd buy my little brother cassette tape so we can listen to the song with our uncle's radio cassette player. I kept the cassette until now & consider it my treasure.

@@woggydwag7120 It's probably a true story. In some households in the 90s especially in the provinces, people do not own a television. I experienced it when I was a kid. We have our own TV set but it's more fun to watch the show with friends.

Actually most of it is lost. The only surviving pieces of it that I know of are extremely poor quality rips of DBZ Movies 5 & 6, a soundtrack that has english versions of this and other openings and endings for both DB and DBZ, and some promotional stuff for Movie 10. I'm sure some other stuff exists though. As for the quality of the actual dub, it's fine. The voices are pretty good except for Piccolo and Vegeta. They also gave Krillin a weird surfer dialect and no character can pronounce Gohan's name right.

Nostalgia, I can still recall Bulma being a sentimental character during the ending song of Dragonball. 🙂 My older sister sings this for me way back in my Kindergarten days. She now occasionally performs in Broadway NYC as a singer. 🙂

Hi this version of DBZ is made only for the Philippines (exclusive) the company that created a songs that still has the connections or relations with the original japan tracks,maybe you're american that's why the other one is close to you ,the funimation actually made a lot of changes in DBZ because the numerous failed attempts to dubbed in english the DBZ.

I don't think your description is very accurate. The FUNimation dub of Romantic Ageru Yo (I'll give you Romance) actually follows both the beat and the lyrics of the japanese version a lot more but this dub has a more similar voice to the original japanese one (Ushio Hashimoto). Personally, the FUNimation dub of this song is my favorite version of it (and I only watched the English dub last year and I don't think DB's dub overall is great (though, still better than Z's and GT's)) but this is really good as well.

Nah. Over here, we got "I'll Give You Romance" (the name being a direct translation of the Japanese version, "Romantic Ageru Yo", the song itself resembling it more than this one in both instumentals and lyrics, but I really dig the instrumentals and slower pace of this version better). If you're interested, you could check I'll Give You Romance out. It's pretty neat.

I think this was first aired by GMA channel 7. RPN channel 9 aired the second (DRAGON BALL Z) and the third (DRAGON BALL GT) but not this one. Then after this GMA 7 aired the second and finished it with the third, thus, airing all the series from Goku's youth to Gohan's adolescence.

The classic dragon ball featuring the kid goku was first aired in RPN 9. It was in English dubbed version alongside with Ranma 1/2.
